The lamp shade was cute, but if you don't want to hot glue it, using an elastic on the top and bottom makes a funky scrunched shade that you can replace any time.
Oh wow, great design ideas, and all the while weaving a green-living principal into them. Nice work. I freakin' love this show!
The colored sticker tab quick tip-GENIUS!
This is so great! Everyone needs light in their home and this is a really cool way of making it stylish. I am doing away with my overhead lighting today!
And thank you for the green guide in your blog, that is SO helpful.
Hi! My girlfriend and I made the lampshade video. Thanks, Meg, for including it in the show! The original is a bit longer with a little more detailed description, if anyone is interested.
I'm so stoked to receive my prize. You don't even know. The harsh chemicals my girlfriend and I use around our house have been a topic of conversation/concern for awhile now. I didn't even know about the methodhome.com detox kit. We've been reading this book called "Clean: The Humble Art of Zen-Cleansing," which has an equal goal of keeping caustic chemicals out of the house, but I find that not all of the systems used in that book are clean enough for me.
Anyway, thanks again. I'm really excited that our video is going to be viewed by way more people than my personal limited youtube audience.
Videojay, thank you so much for the rad video! I am so glad you are stoked on the home detox kit. I checked out "Clean: The Humble Art of Zen-Cleansing," and it looks really cool. Now I must get it.
Mad DIY love.
Lighting is definitely sooooo important. I recall that the "Perfect moment"(caught on camera) may have been due in large part to the lighting. Love you Meg:-)
Great show, Meg! Your lanterns look so pretty - I am inspired! And love the lighting/switch plate sources. Exciting and so helpful. Will you be offering up any deck/patio/porch decorating ideas? I will be looking forward to next Tuesday!
Great episode...not only do I love the ideas, but the you save me so much time by including the websites. The shows have all been terrific - I look forward to seeing it each week.
Great Show! Keep it up!
Btw, whatever happened to the girl in your last episode about the sofa? Was there any nice replies? I'd like to know, please =)
You are consistently coming up with great ideas. And I think it's so great, no to mention helpful, that you include the links to such great websites. Keep em coming!
Check out the downside of using compact lighting.
I recently heard they are giving people headaches
and have mercury in them. They may not be as good as
we have been lead to believe.
Thanks for all of the great ideas on this site.
Peace

Love the viewer trans. The rest of the show, not so much. I may be pummeled now but I dont think it's up to threadbanger standard. The ideas are basically just too simple and, oh well, lame
They may seem simple, but since SO many people still use the bad light bulbs, the bad over-head lighting, and don't use power strips and such, Meg's ideas and tips are pertinent and insightful. Meg herself, the show, and her home are all so stylish and inspiring.
The best fashion and design is reinventing innovative ideas and communicating them in a simple, accessible way. Meg is totally doing that. She is taking inspiration from many different places and weaving them into a comprehensive, well-communicated show. I think this is genius.

Could you do something about outside spaces! I love your show and I have worked really hard on my house. I love to be outside but my space is really boring. Any ideas for patio or porch?
i just want to say the same thing that probably every else has before. I love your podcasts!!!!! Im addicted.
My husband and I live in Tijuana, Mex. *The happiest place in the world, according to the simpsons* so you can say you have another international threadhead!!!
Here's a site with lots (a few pages) of green lighting advice for anyone who's really serious about enviro-conscious living: http://www.motherearthnews.com/Renewable-Energy/2007-04-01/Bright-Ideas-for-Home-Lighting.aspx

OMG, Meg!
You totally read my mind. I just did something like that in my room with a little lamp and an extension. Of course, yours look way cooler!
That tip with the stickers and the cords was a really good idea...gotta tell my dad about that one...

Wow, you are totally right. That was perfectly put. I love the ideas on this show.
Wow, you guys blew me away. Thank you oh-so-much. I am blushing. In a complicated way.
Could you do something about outside spaces! I love your show and I have worked really hard on my house. I love to be outside but my space is really boring. Any ideas for patio or porch?
I must add, the power strips and sticker dot ideas are SO helpful. Why didn't I think of that?
