Awesome episdoe Meg. My Dad also does a ton of BBQing which means almost every father's day we end up giving him BBQ tools, so that department is covered. He definietely doesn't need any more power tools (we had to build a second shed for our camping gear so he can keep more tools). Hopefully I can think of something by the weekend, if i can't i'll still have till thursday on his birthday to give him stuff.
I would love you to tackle
remotes! These are taking over my front room and with
4 wee ones I am always taking them away..... to where??
A recycle is in order, a wall mounted or side of a shelf
way of dealing with these with out lining them up on the
shelf as if they are art! With out spending!?!?
They have to be up out of the way though!
Thanks~!
I will be watching. (*^_^*)
Moonlight Maiden, that is a great idea. We have a sea of remotes taking over our living room too. I shall tackle this problem in an up-coming episode. Good call!
xo, Meg
Thanks a million Meg!
I would love to see something that
would cover them, out of site out of
mind for the little ones! I know that there
are remotes that do it all but my husband
loves all of them, just one wouldn't do. LOL!
Maybe velcro? hummm.......
Thanks again Meg
(*^_-*)
I really like the grilling tips, but telling us to go out and buy new power tools seems a little out of the Threadbanger spirit! There's so many people getting rid of stuff that works just fine- why would you need to buy anything new? You can find almost everything used on Craigslist, at yard sales, or on eBay. It's a little more work, but it's nice to take yourself out of the consumption stream at least a bit...
Rachel, I know, I was surprised. I definitely always say 'DIY before you buy', but think we should applaud the big businesses that are changing their habits and evolving to become more earth-friendly.
Loved the episode! Another great tip is to clean the grill off using a lemon/lime to scrub off the leftovers. It works well (you can even get some scrubbing done) and gives the food a great hint of lemony goodness .
Yeah Coach! Nice shout out! I loved the episode! My friends and I have been grilling out as much as possible since the weather has been good. It is so easy to do and is pretty low maitenance which is great. Nothing like a great bbq.
ps- love the dress and shoe combo ( barrett was that you?) xoxo
whoops sorry for the cuttoff... again.. my dad and i are music/techie fanatics, well u can create a bowl from ur dad's old records [unless he collects them and doesn't want them destroyed]. First u put preheat the oven 225 Farenheit and turn the bowl over to bottoms up remember to place the bowl to a cookie sheet and put the record [if u want u can use a cd- i reuse my dad's cd's] on top of the bowl and make sure its centered. Watch it and keep close and voila! just use ur oven-mitts when taking them out and seal the record/cd with adhesive-backed plastic film when the record/cd is cool.
Good Dad's Day tribute! Great grilling tips! I need to get one of those baskets for the veggies! But...I have to say the highlight of the episode for me, just like Peach, was the Steve Sanders reference!!! Also...I love that dress!!
Wow, Threadbanger is really branching out! I totally did not expect to get so engrossed this morning in a cute father's day grilling video. Bravo, Threadbanger and DIY Meg for making fun episodes every week that cover EVERY base. Looking forward to seeing what next week holds! All that grilling made me hungry!
They just keep getting better and better! I love the grilling tips and cant wait for the 4th of July to use them! I love my dad so much, and you better believe that he is going to love this episode! Happy Father's Day Dad! And you too Coach!!!
Hey Petra! I won't take all the credit for Meg's amazing outfit, but I always like to lend a hand where I can! :) Big things are in the works for the future! Just you wait!!!
I'm ambivalent about Threadbanger taking big sponsors like Lowe's. However, I don't judge about it, because I trust the producers' judgement. I didn't know that Lowe's "went green" but I don't know what that really means. Meg, do you have any links to their green policies? At any rate, it was a great episode and it left me wishing I had a place to grill. Alas, I don't. I love Threadbanger and I've been watching for over a year. Keep up the good work!
Cami, Lowe's isn't a sponsor of Threadbanger - it's just a great place to find supplies and sometimes entire gifts for people looking for Father's Day gifts and aren't craft saavy, such as grills, powertools or plants! By saying that Lowe's is "going green" is that they selling more and more products that are natural and help out the environment. Such as the cleaning supplies that don't contain harsh chemicals which hurt the environment, or the energy efficient light bulbs which help global warming. I love this episode!!
Wow, if Lowe's isn't a sponsor, they sure got a huge non-paid shout out from Threadbanger. I'm glad to see that a big box store like Lowe's is making green products more available, but are they also doing other things, like in-store recycling, using bio-diesel shipping trucks, educating employees on the environment, etc? Honestly, I'm just wondering that's why I wanted a link to their green policies. Either way, I still love Threadbanger.
I too am a fan of Lowes. It is a terrific place to pick up all the odds and ends needed to finish a project-I appreciate the color choices in spray paint, the fact that they stock all those little original items that scrapbook companies have recreated as embellishments in order to up the price and hundreds of other things. Yeah Meg for appreciating a place without needing finacial incentive to do so!
An a super Yeah for the veggie dogs, burgers and veggies! We have been gathering a group over to cook out each week showing the joys of vegetarian grilling. With organic herbs from the garden no one is missing the meat. Be sure to try the joys of quesidilla grilling.
Wow, I just found this project: http://www.craftzine-digital.com/craft/vol07/?pg=115&search=upright%20bracelet%20stand&u1=texterity&cookies=1 And I think it would be a great one to let our viewers know about!
Father's Day is coming up, and if your dad is like mine, he is hard to shop for. This week we have a Father's Day Gift Guide and give a tribute to dad in our Grilling 101 episode. We give you some universal grilling tips that will help you get started this summer, and show you how to cook your first dish. Organic veggies and meatless hot dogs and hamburgers get your grilling season off to a great start!
What a great episode! Super ideas for Father's Day and what a nice tribute to your dad!
Also, great dress Meg!!!!!!!!

DIY before you buy, for sure. But I say bravo to Lowe's for when you HAVE to buy for a gift or something, and for being a big business going green.
I like the grilling basket for the veggies. It made me hungry to watch! Nice episode.
love the addition of cooking to your repertoire! and, of course, the awesome portrait of dad - classic!
thanks for the grilling tips - nice to leard that Lowe's sells so many green products!

yay I love summer cause I just love grilling, grilling chicken, fish, burgers, veggies from the garden...the works.
on a side note I can honestly say I have never seen anyone like you wearing a pretty dress in my local lowes
There is definitely not enough high fashion in hardware stores.
Loved the episode! Another great tip is to clean the grill off using a lemon/lime to scrub off the leftovers. It works well (you can even get some scrubbing done) and gives the food a great hint of lemony goodness .
Great tip, Isabel! Mad props for the use of lemons. A simple, organic and rad quick tip. Thanks.

Steve Sanders does rock!!!
Thank you, Peach, for picking up on the Steve Sanders. I wish there was a power tool named Brenda.
one tip for fathers day gifts
