Wow. That jewelry frame makes me wish I had pierced ears and fabulous earrings! It is so pretty to look at, so the functionality is such a bonus! HA! I bet it work for your favorite buttons and broaches as well!!! I LOVED the Breakfast at Tiffany's shout out! You're so fabulous!
Viva La Ruthless - I wish I had a monitor big enough to make a stencil for my big ugly wall! Arg! Awesome job DIY and VLR!!! I'm already excited about next week!
Same idea, different execution. Find your vintage frame, some tine eye-hooks and more ribbon or piano wire. Screw the eye hooks into the frame so the eyes face inward. String thread or wire in mulitple tiers down the inside of the frame. Hang as Meg did. Clip your earring to the wires or ribbons. Viola!
I absolutely love the screen and the painted tree branch idea! I plan to create one and hang it over my full body mirror. That way I'll never forget my jewlery again!
meg, no lie, i think i'm gonna have seizure. i was featured TWICE on the show!? is that a world record!? i'm like the happiest person that ever lived right now! lol
On a different post I had said "I think It would be cool if they went to someones garage sale and then revamped the stuff they got.
Even with kiddie stuff too. *remember us moms
we want to DIY educate our kiddies from the start!! So they love
what they got or revamp it!!* How about some summer DIY for those
bored kiddies that are home for summer vacation. Projects??"
Do you have any kiddie Ideas?
Love your site!

My jewelry is always a big old mess and it takes forever sometimes to untangle what I want. So I definitely want to do this. This is probably a stupid question, but where can I get the screen?
Find the screen idea interesting - but no wall space! (And don't have pierced ears, either...)
I have such a large vintage collection that I put the items in several containers - Just got a little suitcase box that came with wine in it - and then I have bags filled with jewelry inside - also recycling a velvet box that came with candy in it for small pieces. I keep my watch and everyday bracelets in a basket next to my computer, as I take them off when I come home. And my everyday necklaces are in a decorative glass bowl on the counter top of my bathroom - There is a funky ring holder for holding my rings, etc. when I take a long hot bath. It helps to organize so many pieces by function - that is - one box for earrings, another for pins, another for bracelets, necklaces and so on. I have strung up some decorative necklaces on a towel bar I don't use in the bathroom, along with my many headbands. Because I have good visual memory, I usually don't have that hard a time finding anything & it's fun to go through my collection to find just the right piece.
Hey i love the last idea of using a tree branch for necklaces, how about getting a couple of them and attaching them to the wall so it looks like they are growing out of the wall! imagine them either natural or all different colors! im gona do it!
Oh snap!!! That was amazing!!! I need that and I am absolutely making one of those screens. I have more jewelry then I know what to do with. Loved your shout out to a classic beauty. You look GORGEOUS!!!
We are working on another contest. I don't know if we will do another toolbox contest yet, but will keep you posted! Thanks so much for watching the show, and keep on nesting!
You had the person who won the "hot pink tool box" but, What did they make? What did it look like when it was done? I am a very elementary maker of things, lacking most of the skills to do the stuff that I love to watch and learn, on your website. I am not retarded, or mentally handicapped, I just never had anyone close to me who had the mind of for needlework and crafts. Wen I was watching what could be the winning prize, I was very disappointed because,I could not follow them, nor do I see the finished product. Some of the things you have shown from what I had seen looked so much better to whatever the winner was doing.
WoW!!! thats a lot of great stuff.
But i really need help.
I'm getting married and i wanted to make
my own veil but i cant figure out how to make it.
I'm trying to make a bridcage veil.
Can you PLEASE help me?!
sewthern belle here (had to change my email and create a new account!) Great Audrey Hepburn look Meg. Now all you need to do is grab a cheese danish and munch on it forlornly while you windowshop at Tiffany's.
this episode is uber awesoem another great idea for jewerly is to put them in wine and martini glasses! they look way sexy and many fun ways to arrange them!
Hey, another good idea is to find the old Barbies from when you were a kid that you have stashed away in your attic and use them to hold onto your jewelry. :)
Most people have a ton of jewelry and accessories; the trick is how to organize. This week we make a DIY earring screen and display it in vintage pieces. We also reveal who won the Tool Box Contest and show you a tutorial of their winning project.

Very cool earring hanger. And congrats to Viva La Ruthless!
Meg, only you can turn a jewelry organizer into a beautiful piece of art! I swear it looked more like decor than something to hold your earrings.
Great episode! Oh, and you looked fabulous dressed all like Audrey Hepburn!
Thanks so much Kelles Belles! Keep your eyes peeled on tomorrow's episode for something YOU made beautiful.
