Wow, weaving. I never thought of doing that! Now I will. Thank you Threadbanger! I love this show!!! I tune in every week.

  • corinneleigh (guest) wrote on June 24, 12:51 pm

this is a really great episode! i love that guys bathroom!
the mat is super awesome too. keep up the great work!

  • Lisa (guest) wrote on June 24, 1:17 pm

Thanks again...I have colored towels that I dont like to use cause they seem to smell funny all the time. So now I can make them into mats and use that way. Plus you can put them into the dryer ,cause there is no rubber backing.

  • Meg wrote on June 24, 2:31 pm

Exactly! Great point Lisa. The easier to clean anything is, the better. Especially in the bathroom. No one wants mold.

  • ShellyFreak (guest) wrote on June 24, 1:22 pm

Great Episode Meg! Gave me some good ideas for my new bathroom.

  • atb wrote on June 24, 1:32 pm

Wow, I love the bathmat! I am SOOO making that when I get some towels from Goodwill ;D

  • Barbara (guest) wrote on June 24, 2:05 pm

How does she keep coming up with all these clever ideas week after week?? Another fun show. Keep up the good work.

  • Joan (guest) wrote on June 24, 2:09 pm

Meg, wonderful episode on using extra towels. I loved your color combination! I look forward to every Tuesday wondering what you'll come up with next. You,my Dear Megan, are very talented and oh! so fun to watch!

  • IndieDesigner wrote on June 24, 2:21 pm

Meg, you are so chic and retro-fabulous! The bath cap is adorable and hilarious. The bath mat- simply genius. I really love this show.

  • aymelovestrees wrote on June 24, 2:48 pm

Meg, thanks for answering my question! I love your show and I can't wait to put your idea to work with ALL my old towels! I just finished a bathrug that would be suitable for a smaller bathroom (I think yours is about 4x the size of mine). I'm posting a pic on the forum right now.

  • Meg wrote on June 25, 7:57 pm

Ayme, thank you for sending in such a great request. The technique you used for your bathmat is so rad. I love the textured look.

    Rub a dub dub. XD

  • greenbean (guest) wrote on June 24, 5:20 pm

Teach me how to be as cute as you in that cap! I love the bath mat, and it looks quite "rug"ged since it ends up being the thickness of two towels once weaved together. I need some thing strong and hardy to control my foot grim!

  • elizabeth (guest) wrote on June 24, 7:46 pm

a great show as always. i just love tuesdays! i can't wait to see what you do next week. love the bath mat idea...i have tons of old towels that would make a really cute bath mat! thanks meg!

  • handstand wrote on June 24, 7:47 pm

great episode... the towel weaving is a brilliant idea, and that nautical bathroom is off the hook!

  • Street_Cat wrote on June 24, 8:33 pm

I love the bath cap also maybe a future thread head episode? it's not really a HOME decor thing.

  • minesweeper wrote on June 24, 9:16 pm

haha, i love that guys idea for the overhand and underhand toilet paper rolls. When I get my own place I have to remember to do that, or do the thing the 1st guy did, with 9 rolls on the wall.

    very awesome!

  • creative_license wrote on June 24, 11:12 pm

i love the 20,000 leagues bathroom, what a lot of work it must have been to find all those cool props and things. i love that bath mat. finally something to do with all the towels ive accumulated that i dont really use anymore..

  • IndieDesigner74 wrote on June 25, 1:17 am

i have a feeling you are never ever going to run out of ideas for this show. Or cute outfits (or bathcaps). Bravo! You're incredible!

  • Condo Blues (guest) wrote on June 25, 4:35 pm

If you need a little bit more scrubbing bubble action, when you're cleaning a toilet with vinegar, add a bit of baking soda to the vingar in the bowl (remeber those baking soda & vinegar volcanoes in science class?)

  • Meg wrote on June 25, 7:57 pm

Great tip, thanks! I love easy solutions like vinegar and baking soda. Cleaning without adding chemicals or toxins into the water is really important to me.

  • I LOVE DIY wrote on June 25, 7:54 pm

Good idea, adding the baking soda. Meg, where did you get the bath cap?

  • rollerwriter wrote on June 25, 9:09 pm

You could use hand towels or washcloths stiched together for a fun shower curtain or sink skirt.

My bathroom has a beach theme and most of my stuff is not traditional bathroom stuff- my toothbrush/paste holder is a man's fishing themed desk pencil holder, my washcloth caddy is a white washed bread basket, my sandcastle looking candle holder came from the outdoor section at Kohl's, there are Koi wallpaper cutouts sprinkled around the room courtesy of a leftover piece of thrift store wall paper and so on.

  • Meg wrote on June 26, 8:56 am

That's awesome. I love how you are using different items to fit your aesthetic in ways that aren't necessarily their intended purpose. Now you are thinking outside the box!

  • dreamininlilies (guest) wrote on June 26, 2:22 pm

If the towels you have are not the colors of your bathroom...you could always use some Rit dye and dye them first before weaving them together! Also...if you have a problem with your bath mat slipping, like I do, put a few funky designs made of hot glue onto the back of your bath mat ..^ta da! no slippage!

I bet you could also make curtains, shower curtains and other things for your home using the same technique and other fabrics.

what can people do with those socks that dont have a pair, that we people find in our dresser or in the laundry room, or under our beds? also, my socks are ankle cuts!

  • partylikeits1804 wrote on June 30, 4:44 pm

i think since theres alot of sewers that watch all of these (obviously) it would be really great if you could do sewing room/area organisation. cause i just moved and now have a whole room for sewing (yay) but no clue how to organise or decorate it

  • pebbles87 wrote on June 30, 9:57 pm

great episode! i have a suggestion for a show- i would like to know some tips on candlemaking to improve the look of my room. where could i get some really cute molds like of a rabbit or something?

also, itd be cool to see something on mosaic tiles, for a bathroom or for a table. something quick, easy, cute, i'd like to see an animal pattern for a mosaic :)

Badass! I have to make myself a couple of those ~_^

  • georgia (guest) wrote on July 5, 6:59 am

Hi that is so much a awesome idea , and i have about 400 white towels but they are not perfect .. some stainage ect. so what you do is you dye them the colors of your powder room and then create , i also made one for my kitchen for when you are standing and doing dishes it is the perfect rug and soft on your piggies, gosh these rugs bath mats are so perfect for any wear basically easpecially if you have very thick towels as i do and to many and not enough rugs , i love em they are also fun to make tye dyed colors and if you make them as large as the towel was it is a new thirsty towel too
    thanks georgia from ohio

  • SuzanneB wrote on August 19, 7:48 pm

    Great and so simple!!!

I've got 2 enourmous fluffy dressing gowns that I was going to throw out but they will look stunning done this way. Maybe good enough for my bedroom rather than the bathroon.

oh my gosh, this is too cute. i love the episode, but your intros just kill me!
