we don't encourage, just say IF it happens, be safe. i don't advocate sex, but want kids to be aware that if and when it happens, you need to think about safety first. thanks for thinking about the kids. i do my best to keep everyone's best interest in mind and heart.
xo, meg
It was clear that you said you do not advocate it first, but IF it happens, be safe. I thought that was awesome. Why deny what kids are seeing and hearing about when you can teach about safety and health. Bravo for the bravery!
if Threadbanger's young viewers have internet access, i think Decor It Yourself is the least of their problems. maybe you shouldn't advocate sewing with sharp needles that might injure young viewers!
Brilliant. This episode not only entertains and allows you to learn a fun-for-everyone project and tips, but it really drives home a message that should make you think. Hopefully, it will at least help you to realize that we are really some of the luckiest people in the world to be able to be who we are, whomever that may be.
Meg, I love who you are and what you stand for. Way to really show people that in this 'sode 'splodin full of DIY pride.
I now know what song will take me to that big white Southfork in the sky one day, far far from now... DIY Dallas. Mad preech for that Will.
P.S. Meg - LOVE the new opener... Are you kidding?!?!?! Fabulous!
P.P.S True, there are a lot of younger viewers out there. Also true, there are a lot of older viewers out there. You tastefully gave a quick tip that anyone and everyone should remember no matter when they choose to feel ready enough to remember it. Nicely done.
Loved the episode! Using prints for the color stripes was brilliant and made the flag really stand out from the same ol' rainbow.
One thing that I'd love to see more of on Decor it Yourself and Threadbanger is the encouragement of using the iron while sewing. I realize DIY is fun & quick & spontaneous, and a far cry from fine tailoring, but I think that many of the wonderful, fearless, creative folks out there, essentially teaching themselves to sew, might be thrilled to know the great effect a nicely pressed seam can have on their project. Give it a think...xo
I agree and will take your suggestion. I have often resisted the art of ironing, but have been meaning to embrace it more. All I needed was a push, so thanks!
i love gay people. but they need to know JESUS. yes, i know that this episode is about fashion and style, but you guys chose this topic. homosexuals need to know the TRUTH. and yes, i have gay people in my life and they still yet to know of Jesus... and the whole condom thing, yeah, not a good way to advertise it. i think sex should be between a man and a woman who are already married. but that's my opinion =) love threadbanger though.
jesus would not care he would not care he would love them for who they are
god made them the way they are so you should look a little more in to your bible the next time you try to talk for jesus and god
This week we do a little DIY exercise to get ready for Gay Pride in New York City. This week's episode we make a DIY flag and hit the Gay Pride parade in Manhattan. You can now bring your pride home with your own flag.

yeah, cause condoms are something so dangerous... so sordid... that the younger generation couldn't possibly be exposed. Grow up!
Great episode by the way, I loved it!!! I love to see a little love!
And those younger viewers need to know about safe sex, because the schools certainly aren't teaching it!
Great episode, I love the use of prints in the flag, it made it super cute!
