Meg, the fabric turned out beautiful! And the New York Nest part was really cool to see. That girl's house is so cool.

that would look so cool on a door!!!!

  • Leland307 wrote on July 8, 12:17 pm

    This is an awesome idea!

That apartment makes me sick.....but only because I'm jealous! I couldn't afford to live in Williamsburg when I lived in Brooklyn, so I had to settle for Buschwick.

  • NerdyArtist wrote on July 8, 12:22 pm

    LOVE this idea. LOVE IT!

Also, I'm having some major hair envy... love the bangs!

  • stacey (guest) wrote on July 8, 12:49 pm

I seen this done to a whole car.

  • KRR (guest) wrote on July 8, 12:56 pm

Hate to complain, and it may not be the place for it, but I'm having problems getting this episode through iTunes. Downloading it through the website directly is prooving impossible too.

  • Barbara (guest) wrote on July 8, 5:11 pm

Sometimes I have difficulty with this also. Try accessing it through you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phl09AmO6Bo
That might make it easier for you.

So sorry to see that the po-po in Brooklyn don't have any style!!

    Brilliant lacework! Brilliant.

    F THE PO-LACE

  • knitwench wrote on July 8, 4:47 pm

Paper dolies work welltoo. I haven't done this since Brownies. Everything old is new again!

  • Barbara (guest) wrote on July 8, 5:14 pm

This might be a good use for those old lace tablecloths that get too stained to really use on the table. Once the paint dries you could re-use it I think.

  • supadey wrote on July 8, 8:13 pm

Great espisode! i loved the project and i also loved that super cute apartment!! Just fills us with inspiration. Thanks!

  • elizabeth (guest) wrote on July 8, 8:16 pm

I love the lace. It's hard to find a second hand lace and i like lace a lot so it would be great to learn to make it. I found this great website. I hope you like it. http://gwydir.demon.co.uk/jo/lace/index.htm

  • KozzmaMonsoon wrote on July 9, 6:18 am

i do that lace thing on my walls!
    love the show.
    love the tips.

speaking of, do you have any tips on ways to unclog a drain, without the use of toxic chemicals?

i live in an apartment in a pretty old building with pipes that have a hard time handling two girls with hair, if ya know what i mean.
    thanks!

  • NerdyArtist wrote on July 15, 4:31 pm

white vinegar to the rescue again. Remember the volcanoes you made in jr. high science? Same rules apply.

Add baking soda to the drain and then add your white vinegar. Allow to sit for about 30 minutes before using. Then flush the drain.

I haven't tried this myself, but have read many-a-place that it works.

    HTH!

I love the lace idea! My mom did it to all her metal patio chairs last summer and it looks really cool. I also once saw it on a vinyl record cuff bracelet and loved it.

  • I<3Style wrote on July 9, 9:06 pm

Haha. Hilarious. I love the lace and apartment.

  • sunnyb64 wrote on July 9, 9:10 pm

My mom apparently did this lace technique to the hood of a car she had when she was a teenager. :D

  • Crimsonnin wrote on July 9, 9:26 pm

I've been dying to try this out. Thanks for the reminder. I'll probably end up going on a graffiti lace craze just because it looks SO COOL. Thanks again Meg. Keep'em coming!

I have a BUNCH on lace that I don't know what to use it for XDD

Now I can use it for this >:D

  • tanpopo (guest) wrote on July 10, 1:56 am

^_^ I totally did the graffiti lace thing a couple of months ago! Great minds think alike. Didn't think to do it on a shirt, though. Great ep.

  • Arle (guest) wrote on July 10, 1:06 pm

I've watched in NYC. Now I'm watching from L.A.; I've got set decorators out here tuning in. My "The Mars Volta"-looking younger brothers revealed they had been watching... and everyone LOVES the show. Congratulations and keep up the quality work and the positive vibe. You rock!

  • lemonbar77 wrote on July 10, 5:46 pm

I love the lace used as a table cloth. As a guy, I don't think I could pull it off as a shirt :(

I second KozzmaMonsoon's question about eco-friendly uncloggers! And thanks for the vinegar toilet bowl cleaner tip. Bless you!

  • lemonbar77 wrote on July 10, 5:49 pm

OH! I also loved the mirror frame made into cork board that was in her apartment. Beautiful!

  • Eyvie (guest) wrote on July 11, 4:54 pm

Meg, I love that dress. I've been looking for one similar. Where did you get it?
Glad to see the lace idea in action. I've been wanting to try it.

  • Meg wrote on August 15, 2:47 pm

It's a vintage frock from my grandmother. Try ebay or etsy or vintage shops for similar look. thanks!

  • Mari (guest) wrote on July 11, 6:04 pm

I also wounder what kind of spray paint you use and where you get it?

  • Jamie (guest) wrote on July 11, 9:38 pm

spray paint doesn't seem very environmental friendly. Airbrushing is better, but since many people don't have the equipment, I would suggest perhaps sponging on a fabric paint--much better to breath in too. Definitely don't spray paint in enclosed areas!!!

  • BrendaLea (guest) wrote on July 12, 10:25 am

Awesome! I have to try this on my plain tanks. Thanks for the great idea!

  • Ms.Construed (guest) wrote on July 13, 3:12 pm
