AH! I LOVE THIS EPISODE! And I LOVE my apartment re-vamp! Meg, your show inspired me and continues to do so. I love Threadbanger, Thread Heads and Decor It Yourself! Since I am not so great with a sewing machine, I am so happy that this is more of a hand-sew episode! I just may have to have a little Valentino inspired pillow of my very own for Gracie when she comes over! Keep up the fabulous and inspiring ideas! STHFRK 4 LYF!
I understand how design ADD is! Love the pad Barret!
me too. i have so many different tastes and style, but pillows are a great way to easily switch it up.
i love these pillows!! i just got into sewing this weekend (it's about time, right?) and I definitely want to make these pillows for my new apt! thanks meg!
omg i am so making these for my dorm !!!
Meagon, these would be perfect to make your dorm room more of a home. good thinking and best of luck at school!
xo, Meg
Those pillows are so pretty!
Another AMAZING episode with such a lovely finished product. Barret's home is so cool!
Love it!!!
How do we build are own Barret?

Thank you Sally! I love your name.
I got the dress at a vintage shop for $20, a true Brooklyn score.
Now I shall go rest my head on my new pillow....
could you tell me how to make the pillow at 0:15 with the rounded bumps?
It looks awesome, and I want to make one. Thanks! :)
MEG! Happy 20th episode- I loved it. I do have a confession, Normally I get the e-mail that the new episode is up while at work and I immediately watch it BUT without any sound- no speakers here and I haven't had interenet at my nest because of my move- so I can't wait to get home and finally catch up on the past few episiodes with sound!
Bay's apartment looks so good! I can't wait for naration and to see it in person!
Jojo
Thank you Jojo! You just made my whole day! xox
Bay, so glad to see the farrah is making a come back! You two make me very happy!
Yay, pillows! I went on a pillow-making spree last Christmas for gifts ^_^ Check 'em out! http://forum.threadbanger.com/showthread.php?t=2776 http://forum.threadbanger.com/showthread.php?t=2684 http://forum.threadbanger.com/showthread.php?t=2542
Katzilla, awesome pillows! Thanks so much for showing us your awesome work. I love the pocket pillow.
Nice episode. remember that rose method can also be used as acessories too!
Definitely. I am totally going to make some bags and add a huge one to the bottom of a skirt and add a few to the bottom of curtains...the options are endless!
ooo the petal pillows would look so good on my "new" couches!! now I need to find some fabric!! thanks
i love the dress!! and the flowera are a great idea, you can put them in everything!
saludos!
That guy is so cute. (in a sweet gay way)
I wanna hug him XD
tell me about!
Love the petal pillows - the lace one looked really cool!
I love the tours of people's nests! The only problem is that many of the shots go by so quickly, it's hard to get an idea of how they really look. Maybe a little slower next time?

loved the pillow idea b/c i love flowers! perfect!
I noticed the Puma commercials recently. Just a reminder, keep your sponsors responsible.

Remember the sweatshop and union busting situations that came to light not that long ago.
Also, for the comment about painting, if you mask properly, you won't get paint where it doesn't belong. The more you prep the room the better it will look and the less mistakes you will have to go back and fix. And, when buying white paint for touchup, be sure it is the same white. There are countless variations of white and off-white that will clash with whatever is on your trim. Some apartment complexes will let you borrow the standard paint they use, so you might check into that to possibly avoid paying for white paint and to be sure it's an exact match.
Tools to have before starting: paint roller, painting pole, paint pan, paint (duh) :), paint brush (you will need this for corners and edges), paint stirer, dropcloth (or a ton of newspaper), painter's suit (if you don't have any clothes that you don't mind getting paint on), masking tape.
Most people now-days skip the brush because they think the roller will do everything. The roller will have trouble in corners and by the ceiling and baseboard. So, use the roller as far as you can into the corner (unless you want 1 wall to be a different color) and go almost to the top and bottom of the wall and window trim making sure not to touch anything that is not supposed to be painted. Then finish up with the brush.
Also, I seem to remember another episode that had tips on painting. Cant remember which one, but it showed taking off the recepticle covers before painting, which I encourage. But, when painting the recepticle itself was painted. Painting a recepticle will make it look really bad really fast. Not to mention, you will be putting something wet into an electrical outlet. The results could be shocking. So, if you think you might mess up and put paint into your electrical system and end up a smoking pile of dust or just have a power failure and have to call the super to flip the breaker or replace the fuse (which will not be a happy event either), then put some masking tape over the top of the recepticle, making sure you don't grab it by the sides and have a hair raising experience from masking.
The more you prep the room the better it will look and the less mistakes you will have to go back and fix.
so true. a good prep can make all the difference.
I'm intrigued that you went through all the work of hand sewing the flower, then machine sewed the closing on the pillow. It easily takes about two minutes and looks a lot better to hand sew. Why choose the less attractive version? You're clearly not afraid to hand sew, and your obviously good at it (or will be at the end of this project).
I'm just saying. Cute pillow anyway.
Adorable pillows, adorable boy, and adorable you. Helpful tips as always. Love the new intro!
very clever!
love the originality.
keep creating!
it's refreshing to see people actually using their brains!
This is really cool! I also like how you can easily apply these roses to other things, like purses.
Hey Threadheads! i love ur show! i would like to know how to knit a hacky sack. thanx.
joey,
my sister does that! i have no idea how she knits the, um, knitted part lol but i do know that she sews a little sack and stuffs it with rice before she knits the other part, that way the rice doesn't slip out of the holes. hope that helped! (sorry meg, didn't mean to go off topic on your show :))
lol at first, i thought your little dog was a pillow! ^.^ this episode was so awesome, i love machine sewing, but sometimes i like to lay back on the couch and sew by hand. :D
haha, me too.
Cute dog, cute pillows, cute dress, cute boy...Gah! Too much cuteness!
lol not really...
GAHHH!!! COULD YOU PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO A TITORIALL FOR HOW TO DO THE HIPPO PILLOW!!he is sooooo cute!
Hey! Can you tell me how to make the pillow at 0:15 with the rounded things? It looks really cool. I wanna make one.
Thanks!
Try putting a miniature flower on a hairclip
I have a ton of flowers i made using ribbon before i even watched this video.
Tips for stuffing pillows...If you use batting as an inner liner, then stuff your pillow between the layers of batting, you can avoid a lumpy looking pillow. Also, it's best to stuff them more than you think is necessary because the stuffing will settle and look a little deflated if you don't put enough inside.
Side note: I LOVE pillows for mixing things up, but I don't have a lot of room. So after I made a few pillows, I opted for pillow covers to change the look. Saves on space and still keeps my design ADD in check!
Thanks for the awesome episode!
