Jewelry Organization

My jewelry collection is made up of beautiful vintage pieces handed down to me from my mom and grandmother, and new, fun pieces I have found on my own. My fantastic fiance` has given me a fair share of bling through the years, and I have found some favorites at flea markets and antique stores. My problem is always how to store and organize these lovely pieces in a way that does them justice.

Your vintage dishes and tea cups work wonderfully as a way to keep your treasured pieces from getting into a mangled mess. Colored glasses and Mason jars that are varying heights are great to hang your earrings on. You can see them all, and keep them together in pairs.

How do you organize your baubles and bling?

I keep my jewelry in big glass hot chocolate jars.
I also use old pocky boxes to hold pieces of paper, candy and stationary.
To be fair, I just stuff everything inside so that it isn't visible anymore so that ruins the point, but I don't wear jewelry much.
I have a jewelry drawer in my dresser and I use a combination of store-bought organizers, and reused egg cartons and cereal box bottoms to seperate everything. However I do like the mesh/frame holder for earings...
Most of my jewelry I keep in a jewelry box which has small little drawers specified for different pieces (like places to put rings and earrings). I have a lot of chunky necklaces that I keep in boxes from price busters that I built. I really like the screen idea
I have a jewelry box as well for most items (it's vertical - space is an issue - otherwise I'd totally go for the teacups and saucers and whatnot), but I keep all my dangly earrings on a long strip I knit, which hangs on the wall. So if you can knit, there's another option for you.
luv the ideas!, totally cool and vintage rox but:
any suggestions for how to store clip on earings?
Try gluing or stitching nice ribbons onto a dowel, picture frame, or a wood or metal ring of some sort. Hang from a wall and clip the earrings on for mess-free storage. This also works for hairclips. Bonus: Using a dowel or ring allows for compact travel.
My dad found me this awesome Eifel Tower Lamp that didn't have a lampshade at Goodwill, so I hang all my dangly earing off of the sides and it has two levels to do that on all four sides and I hang this really cool red southern bell wig on it and put a mask on it as decoration
its awesome.
and my dad also found me a little ceramic eifel tower that i putmy rings on.
:D
I used to display my jewellery in a very similar way, but after about a year I noticed all my silver jewellery was rapidly tarnishing - and unless you're willing to regularly dust all those cocktail glasses and silver trays, it just looked messy. I'm in a different apartment now with less space (and sharing with my boy) so the jewellery now lives in a big plastic container I bought at a craft shop - known by many different names depending on your hobby, but it's a clear plastic box with a flip top lid and about 24 different compartments, usually used to store embroidery thread bobbins, beads, fishing tackle, nuts & bolts, etc. I can see all my jewellery at once and nothing gets tangled. and, it hardly takes up any space!
I have a lot of bangles and right now I have them hanging on my bedposts, but when I move into my dorm room I won't be able to do that. Any nifty ideas for my poor bangles so they don't get lost/warped?
