For those who want a more "finished" product, you can find 3'x2' sheets of a thicker, higher grade aluminum for like 4 bucks (!) at your local hardware store. You can easily cut it with scissors too!
New verb: "Kanyed" - the act of infringing uon & dishonoring the person/object of respect by interrupting for selfish purposes.
Use: girrrrrrl the punk just kanyed ur ass!!
:)
i did a project in elementery that remindes me of this etcept we used alumuim foil we took like a poster paper and put elmers glue on it and waited a day for it to dry then we wraped the foil in it and glued it down pressing it to the "patterns we hardened" before it came out pritty cool
I love Decor It Yourself!! It's definitely my favorite Threadbanger show! :)
I had an idea for the cans... you could tape a picture to the back of the can and then trace it... I'm going to test it out, I'll be sure to post pics!
Loved this episode. I really liked the metal art. If you heat the metal it changes colors & would give even a more authentic look to the wall art. Still a nice job. Keep up the good work.
Haha, Gracie's so sleepy! I love the simplicity of this project, and yet the results look fantastic... and suprisingly professional. I sometimes wonder if your running out of wall space for all of your wonderful creations?
ps- the beginning was priceless. Rob's acting skillz are out of this world! Corrine's look of confusion, no words. Too great
Great intro! And I love how you made soldering look so easy! I just might have to try this, but I think I'm gonna take smidgen's suggestion and add some texture. Thanks for the awesome episode!
could you please please please do a show on organization? i suck at it and my parents always yell at me for it. i can't do anything using nails in my wall though.
Love love love Meg Allen Cole! If I had a friend, of course not me, who wanted to learn how to solder (or how to spell it) where should they look. My friend is super interested but has too many hot glue burns that are holding her back.
I love the concept but it would be great if the aluminum cans could have some texture put into them so they don't look.... umm... cheesy? Why not try using a textured hammer to give the tree tops some 3-D effect? Or how about some copper sheeting to give the tree trunks some color? Just my thoughts.... thanks!
So I really like this idea, though I'm a little concerned about the sheer amount of Foster's can you had lying around. I'm think about doing this, but putting the printed side out. I just love the look of trash as art.
