Hey Meg, I know its not very crafty, but could you do an episode about insulating apartments / keeping your nest warm in winter? Its already getting drafty in here..... ^^;;
It's funny how almost everytime my D.H. and I are talking about doing something, within a week we see it on here! Awesome piece, can't wait to do the mirror backsplash at home under our vintage steel cabinets! Thanks! :)
Glad we're on the same page April! Take photos or video when you do yours, we want to see it for sure. xo, Meg

It is spackle not shellac. And every water drop is going to show, hope you like washing mirrors better than dishes because that is going to need cleaning every time you use the sink.
Actually the up-keep has been minimal. Not a problem at all. Thanks for pointing out the negative.

Meg keeps up on everything and would not let water spots get her down. Well done Meg. And, If Im not mistaken, I think the actual small container of product that you used and was shown in the video, said Vinyl Shellac. Beautiful and right on the money as always Meg. Bingo Meg. Bingo.

*Sign* I have a window that takes up most of the space, with cabents on either side, then a funny flange thing....and outside the window stares into the aeclectic side of my neighbors house, i wish it was that easy to decorate...maybe ill paint it and get new trim [needs to get done anyway cause of the mysterious ant problem
I like the idea of putting a creative backsplash in your kitchen. I dislike how you stated you dislike washing dishes, then mounted mirrors... to watch yourself do dishes?
Wow, I wish I could do something like that in my apartment ): But I am a renter... sigh. I can't even put sticky paper liners in my cupboards!! My kitchen is so bland =__= I wish I could just PAINT my kitchen!!
It looks like somehting that would be in a bathroom.... sorry I don't think that that should sound mean. Meg, do you have any good decor it yourself ideas for hanging canvas boards on the wall. I draw and paint alot and need a brilliant and vintage idea on how to hang the pieces of art up without frames. Thanks!
hello threadbanger, I'm from Australia. I like your episodes and how to's. Could you please show us a small episode on how to thread your sewing machine and then perhaps sew a little perfume bag to get us started. It would help me on getting started on my machine. Australia says thank you
Does your sewing machine have an instruction booklet? Because it would have threading instructions in there. Also, I don't think they could do an episode on that, because certain brands thread differently, so it wouldn't be helpful. And if you look to earlier episodes, you can probably find something to help you sew what you want - they've gone far beyond simple bags now... that's something simple enough I think you could google and find several ways of doing it! :) Also check instructables.com (might have something about threading machines, too).

LOVE YOUR SHOW! This week was great and by the way I love the vintage feel of your place.
I have a window above my sink as well, but it is so very encouraging to see that I am not the only one standing in front of my sink for hours at a time. Thanks, Meg! And great job on the backsplash--I'm sure it makes your kitchen look bigger too!
That's something I wonder, too, that was never answered last time I asked on TB - are the contests for US residents only? I am in Canada.

The tile looks wonderful. You did a great job.
I have to add that I covet your vintage dinnerware and cookware. They are so lovely. Oh if I had money and cabinet space...
MEG! I love how you can continually make tutorials that are so unrealistic to your viewers :D! Now i can tile my wall AND refloor my apartment! You're my hero :)
I hate doing the dishes. I finish all of them, turn around, and then there's another one in the sink! They just keep coming back..... Very cool backsplash though! Very stylish and opens up the space. And MUCH better than looking at a blank wall.
I always say that dishes are like rabbits--never leave 2 or there will be a whole sink full when you return! Glad to hear I'm not alone in the land of no dishwashers. : )
