How-to Block Print, Decor It Yourself

This tutorial is awesome.  I've done several lino cuts of my own but often end up with gouges in my hands as a result.  Where would you come across the rubber pads and for how much?

haha we did exactly this in art class it was fun but really hard to do we didnt use rubber so it was really hard to carve but i love my new stamp!!

hey hi hello! i would like to add my own imput on your amazeing block prints have you ever thought to hang big ones on your wall as a design or something ?  its kind of neat actually espically the bigger your art gets! try it out :P

I am not sure where to get the rubber pads (i am not in US), can I use those for cleaning? I do have the carving tools after my sister though :-). And what a coincidence I LOVE drawing houses, so I liked this particular print a lot. 

I do not hear properly and the background music made it difficult to catch words for me. And it was not necessary, in my opinion, as the nice gentleman talks all the way and doesn´t only show what he is doing (then it would be of course boring without music, I understand). Just saying.. Love ALL your shows!!

Great epp. Meg! once again I'm inspired to make something spiffy for my home. But with spring comming up do you think you could do an epp. about some wicked cool ways to organize that doesnt require alot of plastic tubs??

awesome! Thanks for the tut! My hubby bought me the linoleum and the rubber pads. Now I can see how to carve them and have to go out & get the carving tools. BTW, I was not distracted by either of your "camera-shy" faces. Actually, i didn't even notice.

Wow, that old camera-like-thing that was hanging in the background suddenly gave me a flash of inspiration.... I'm gonna make a music box in an old camera...

I did this just a few months ago at school! It was a little harder because we used linoleum and used mutiple colors, but it was so much fun and turned out great. I did one of myself.

Can you use this technique to make T-shirt designs?

you can get supplies like ink and carving tools at like michals or ac more the blocks i get at my local campus artschool book store you can try to find a store near you using  speedball.com  speed ball is the leading company in printmaking products my professor in screen printing is a consultant for them they have really awesome stuff. this sounds like an informercial but those websites and places help  with getting supplies to start

At the beginning, the only thing I could think about was "ahhh he's going to be playing with wet liquid in a white shirt!" But...it was surprisingly not messy at all. Thanks for the video. This is something I've been interested in trying, and it helps a lot to see a video of how to do all of the steps. :) You're very talented, thanks for showing!

great tut dailey's funny and explianed the techniqe perfectly ive alway's wanted to know how to do this but where do i get the ink.can i use acrilic or oil colors? and where do i get a block of linoleum?

AH yes. In highschool we used linoleum too, well because its cheaper, and my teacher had suggested to iron it a bit to make it softer to carve and ya know what? it works perfectly.

LOL @ Bill Clinton book!! The house print looks so cool, but who actually has all these supplies at home?? I'll stick with potato printing
