Wow! This takes me back to junior high when we had to do string art in art class. I think mine is still at my parents house. I should get it once I buy a house and restring it so it matches my decor. That will be a someday project.
I recently inherited a string art swag lamp, like the one pictured in your video, the string is very fragile and breaks easily. I'd like to restring it. It looks so complicated. Like it maybe a job that needs to be done in one sitting. Any suggestions? I'm not sure how to hold it together while restringing it. Also, Do you think it will effect value to RE-STRING? It happens to be a very MOD orange color! I love it for it's LOOK.
Wow. There is so much you can do with this! I especially love the example where they made it oversized above the couch--makes it seem more architectural when it's so huge.

Did anyone get the name of the web page that shows you how to make the string tree?

I love the 70's color schemes and patterns---string art brings back middle school memories!!! Love it....especially that large circular wall piece!!!
Hi Meg! Love your work.
For the string art, I remember making one piece back in elementary school, but the board then was covered in fabric, not painted. Have you considered that? The pattern for the nails was printed on a piece of paper that we'd rip off after nailing it, before stringing. Ah! memories you're bringing!

I really love the do it yourself home decor videos. I'm for sure taking notes for when I get an apartment with my soon to be husband.
:-)
Thanks a lot!
I did something similar to this for my foundation art project, check out my blog below: http://juicielucie.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2010-02-10T18%3A24%3A00Z&max-results=20
I'd like to request more awesome furniture re-fabs. Painting, upholstery, pillows, everything!
Different (non-dresser) ways of storing clothes would be cool, too. Thanks!
uhh i love love love the 70ies. to my mind we should turn the clocks back to woodstock and grove to the music of jimi hendrix. thats why i am so so so proud of my original 70ies wallpattern and the tomato pillow form my moms childhood. would love to see more vintage inspired projects, also at the clothng projects.
Hey Meg, Love the show. I found this link which looks very like the pattern you liked. Hope it helps.
