I'm a total neat freak (Since I was born practically!) and I've never thought of this! Great turmnal! Ribbion would also work, which is what I'd use. I LOVE ribbons! You can do almost anything with them. Would you PLEASE make an episode on things to do with ribbons?

An even cheaper solution to preserving the holes in your calendar--masking tape!  It's a trick I learned from my 9th grade science teacher.  You cover the space that you want to punch holes with masking tape and punch away.  Cheaper than hole reinforcements and saves you a trip to the store!

I like your birthday banner! I made one for my dad when we were on holiday. I used pictures and letters from old newspapers and strung them together with cotton from my sewing kit.

this is a perfect Idea, not only for birthdays, but (for us old married folks)Anniversaries. (I know it would keep my husband's memory intact about when our own wedding date!) Thanks muchly for this!
