Cool show! You totally transformed that vintage shelf. I am definitely going to try some chalkboard paint, it looks really cool. And so functional too.
The quick tip was so awesome too, I love those containers in your office.
MEG lol. how did you do the blocks? (i know it's a little off-topic) lol, but did you just sit them next to each other, or glue them? screw them(together) ? lol. i found a lot of blocks from when i was a kid, and i can totally make lots of words lol.
PS, thanks threadbanger. :) and meg. :)
i think it's totally awesome how you guys are combining ideas, realms and inspiring more ppl on diff. levels of creativity/diff. types and ways. i love this site. and i suck at sewing. LOL. but, just being immersed in all of this feels as amazing as being a skilled seamstress. ;) (and now, we will have more outlets to create with)
Thanks KristyLynn!
I just placed the blocks next to each other so I can re-use them and mix them up to spell other words and greetings. Aren't they fun? I figured, everyone has them or can find them, and they make great welcome signs and birthday banners:)
Enjoy! And send in footage or pics of what YOU spell out!
xoxoxo
eeeee! lol. :D *she talked to me* (:faint:) hahah :D :P thank youuu! :) i totally will. hahah. i like sticks, too. so maybe i will create with sticks. haha
Kelly Lynn, duh, you are the one and only KristyLynn, I don't know what happened with the keyboard there. But do send in your projects, my dear, we want to see them!
LOL!
Love it! Last week iI marched right to etsy.com and ordered new wall stickers and now I plan to awesomize my kitchen with a new chalkboard piece. Can't wait for the next episode!!
I'd never heard of chalkboard paint - but now think it is the best thing ever! I love the idea of painting different surfaces in the home so you can write on them. How do you clean something painted with chalkboard paint? Soapy water?
That was a nice idea.. i had that chalkboard liek paint idea in mind a while ago. since my walls are black I was gonna just paint that over one side by my computer/desk so if I ever need to write down a note just write it on my wall! lol
but all of that was really inspiring.. Im re-doing my room right now and will deff. keep all that in mind.
my only probems right now is too much wiring everywhere! my lights..computer..clock ect. all have wires and I ahve few plug in spaces. not to mention the wires get all cluttered together and become a big ugly mess. And Im trying to think of a way to make my bed more individual.. its rather boring( and by that i mean the back board.. end of the bed..ect) got any ideas?
and for your desk full of cables and junk, there`s this awesome idea

Chalkboard paint? Who knew it could be this cool! As usual, the hostess is delightful. The background music was a real treat. Hope Terry Manners and Willie Dictionary are featured again soon. (yes, I actually read the credits)
Good call on the chalkboard paint...its a great way to conserve paper. I also like the new knobs on the piece, a nice finishing touch.
Lindsey's mural was awesome as well. Keep up the excellence!
i luv it... more organization help please. i just moved from a room that was huge to one about 1/4 the size. idk wat to do. i have to store all my stuff and then i have alot of collections that i would display on the shelves but now i have almost no shelve space... n i don think my mom wants me putting velcro on all the walls... no matter how cool i think a velcro wall would be
Meg, do you have any tips for organising your stuff without putting it in a closet/wardrobe? I dont have lots of room for storage and i hope you have a cheap simple tip for me!! thanks xoxo
Anne, yes I do. I suggest creating an eclectic mix of repurposed, vintage vessels and containers to hold your odds and ends, tools and materials. Also, you can take any old recycled cardboard box and cover it in some contact paper to make it more aesthetically pleasing. I love fuax woodgrain contact paper.
Send in footage or photos of your projects and send them to tips@threadbanger.com
1] i think you are a fantastic addition to threadbanger.com. decor it yourself is something i look forward to every week.
2] this summer, i'm moving into a house with a bunch of college friends and i'm sure we could use some tips on how to keep our shared space rad. i was wondering if you had any suggestions?
I love all the ideas that you have. I have a secretary (huge two piece desk) and Some of those ideas would be great for a way to jazz it up along with my file cabinets. However, I live in an apartment and they get funny about changing paint colors and that. Any ideas in the future for changing and making stuff for those of us in limited space and options?
I had a wall covered with cork tiles in my bedroom, in one of the places I lived as a kid. I was ALWAYS rearranging my posters & mementos - lots of fun!
Cork can be bought in 12" sq tiles and put up with a brush on adhesive. Good for odd size wall spaces, the squares cut easily, I've had mine for years. Don't forget to label repurposed containers, otherwise you forget which is what. If you are going to tape stuff to walls don't use regular masking tape, it will pull the paint off the wall if you leave it up for long. You can use poster tack, a gummy like stuff that is cheap or painters tape, the purple will hold for a month or more without leaving a residue. Also good for marking sewing lines on your machine bed.
Wow....I have reorganized my studio 3 different times in hope of bring more inspiration. Never did the ideas in this episode crossed my mine. This show rocks!!!!
oh meg, you're so cute (and i'm saying that as a girl). (; thanks for the great tips, i'm especially impressed by the velcro and chalk board paint idea. great. i also love how you store your things in those vintage boxes.
omg this is making me mad like the buffer rate or stream on every vid is sooo slow update please im almost posotive its not my comp because it plays all the videos from almost every website just fine....
I saw a can covered in chalkboard paint, I wondered how they did it. I didn't know it was paint! It was very cool people drew all over it.
Anyway those are some very cool ideas I'm going to have to use, never though about the cork board on furniture before. I'm going to have to do that!
Spring is almost here and you know what that means...SPRING CLEANING time! Meg is going to show us how-to turn an old cabinet into a organizational wonder. Slate paint is soooo cool!
Great ideas!!! Can't wait to do this at home!!

So Awesome!!! Where do you get these ideas? You are brillilant!:-)

Thanks for the question, Anne!
You're so cute!
I'm in need of something to cover my wardrobe with- and that'll be perfect. Hooray!
Five stars, as usual. Though chalkborad paint tends to be quite expensive here in Portugal, I think it's well worth it.
Meg for president!
Btw, sorry for the late comment. As you can guess I missed it yesterday :S.
Where in Portugal? I traveled there a few years ago, it's beautiful.
I'd share my chalkboard paint with you, but the commute would be killer. Send us footage of what you end up doing!
Long live Portugal!
Another faabulous idea from Meg.

Meg's directions for these most practical projects are most succinct - even I can follow them.
Love the aprons!

SHAKE YO PAINT!
I had a wall covered with cork tiles in my bedroom, in one of the places I lived as a kid. I was ALWAYS rearranging my posters & mementos - lots of fun!
Excellent episode altogether!
That is one of the best parts. I am always changing my home and switching up the inspiration and artwork. Cork makes that so easy! Good call, Kristin.
Cork can be bought in 12" sq tiles and put up with a brush on adhesive. Good for odd size wall spaces, the squares cut easily, I've had mine for years. KnitWench, you are just filled with helpful information! Thank you so much for the wonderful tips.
Another clever idea! And, Meg, I loved your jacket -you have a wonderful sense of style! Looking forward to next week.
That dog kills me...do you actually subscribe to Women's Wear Daily? Didn't you have to sell a kidney or something to afford it?
Sadly, I still have both kidneys. I get the hand-me-down WWD from one of my best friend's, who is a killer stylist. Perhaps some day...
Ah...to have friends that can afford your lifestyle...nice...
omg you dog is really cute.
plus nice vid!
