this is probably my most favourite Threadbanger episode - i love the intragenerational D-I-Ying. gratitude and love to all those grannies, aunties, and progressive momma's who were DIYin be it was hip... hell i remember trying to go to sleep as a 5 year old and hearing my moms sewing machine buzzin away downstairs at all hours of the night - creating magic...

just discovered your site last week, am so excited and am telling everyone who will listen. Great! Hope to let everyone in Dublin and Ireland and France and England know about this. Loved the slack dress.
that was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but im a guy and dont wear flowers that often... so isnt there somthing rely like cool 4 guys that u can do with crochet?
o my goodness!!!!! corinne i am from troy as well i honestly thought that noone but the people who lived there know where it is. i love your guys site it rocks my socks to the maxx!!! keep up the awesome work
What a hoot!! I saw things I've been doing for YEARS and in some cases GENERATIONS. The ski masks. I made the one that looks like a girl in'79? My oldest, now a lawyer, loved it, wore it all winter. The paint a messed up shirt, I have one waiting for me right now. My middle daughter won a best in show at the 4H fair with a redone stained turtleneck. And the drawstring jumper, that is how my mother made my summer nightgowns. Everything old is new again!! Keep it up, you're turning into me (it's OK I'm nice).
FYI for those who are interested in more info about the sleeping bags for the homeless in this episode. I went looking for it and thought it should be shared.

heyyy threadheads! i looove all of your videos!! i want ot try them all... my boyfriend and i tried the coffee stain with the jeans this weekend and it didn't work. we listened to all of the directions... but we used regular coffee not espresso.... could that be it?? i really want it to work!! thank you sooo much!
That was clever to be able to take a vacation and still find content for the show. I guess DIY truly is a National way of life. Was great to see how even the smallest of towns do their part to help the homeless and despite the small town, it seems they had big ideas (and big hearts). I cant wait to see next week's episode and who that sleeping bag goes to...it'll be a nice payoff to see the hard work gone to good use.
thanks so much for the help. my sister and i r really into diy. and i'm really excited about making my flower. this is the fastest i've ever been helped out usually it's like ten episodes later because so many ppl ask for help so thanks. u guys rock.
Take a trek with us off the beaten path to Troy, Pennsylvania for Corinne's family reunion, where we're answering a viewer's question on crochet and checkin' out a cool church group that makes sleeping bags for New York City's homeless out of recycled materials.
any one know what a 'four crochet stitch' is? i need serious help
I believe it is twirling the yarn around the hook twice, and then sticking the hook in the stitch you are crocheting. hope this helps!
