Looking forward to the new show!
    Great corduroy hoodie.
Re: jean purse, I saved a super cool pair of my son's jeans for just such a project. Don't forget about kid sized clothes.

  • lisafestus wrote on September 15, 1:47 pm

I see that you hand stitched the purse back together. I was thinking would it not be better to machine stitch this to make it hold up better? But I do love this idea and will go to the threft store to get a pair to make this...thanks for the great idea. Keep up the good work.

  • pixieapproved wrote on September 15, 2:16 pm

    @lisafestus
my sewing machine is actually broken right now :(
that's why i hand sewed it...and actually its very durable.. i went across twice which a meticulous running stitch which seems to have done the trick.
i cannot stop looking at this purse. i love it so much. cannot wait to stencil something on it.

Guys, I'd remove that tip on how to vote more than once.. the competitors are clearly doing it too now.

  • Create and Destroy wrote on September 16, 4:15 am

    then its already too late...

  • tomothecat wrote on September 16, 10:41 am

It's kinda upsetting... RR has a billion guests on her show like Adrienne and Ask a Gay Man, giving vanity advice and promoting products most of us aren't willing to spend a paycheck on.. She could use a little resoursefulness. Madeline Merced isn't really a bad show, I enjoy her site, but she doesn't have the stage presence of these guys.

  • kevychevy420 wrote on September 17, 9:58 am

I love you, You guys are so great. you both give me great ideas to do things on my own. see i sit home all day cause i have no car or liecense so i can't go anywhere, and my furture husband works all day. so i surf the net and look for project ideas to do. Never heard of you until the racheal ray show and now i can't seem to get enough. I LOVE EVERYTHING you two do. I love the thought of useing old cloths to make new things with them. And Lord knows i have enough stuff to work with.
    Thank-You, Thank-You, Thank-You. Can't say it enough

  • michelle_moo wrote on September 18, 8:33 pm

Haha. I almost ended up on the Rachael Ray show ! (= But I didn't have a friggen camera that I could record using tape only. Boo ! So, I had to tell Mr. Newborn that I couldnt do it...by.. ignoring his call >_< What kind of idiot ignores a TV producer's phone call ...

    -Points to self- Yo.

  • medea wrote on September 26, 11:16 pm

I couldn´t resist, and I sewed one for myself, with a few modifications: I extended the bottom of the bag to make it taller, I lined the purse and I sewed a strap with "hidden" pocket and added a zipper pocket on the flap. Pictures on the link :)

Where was this stuff 20 years ago. Oh well I can still be the cool old crazy lady

  • Holly wrote on October 26, 11:00 pm

This is probably really weird, but I have a pair of jeans that I love, but they're tattered and falling apart... The fabrics thin on the bum and I can't wear them as they'll probably tear. :( But I wore them to warped tour and met one of my fave bands in them and everything, and I wanna do something cool with them 'cause they bring back memories. Every little hole and tear holds a memory. :P The one on the knee's from playing dodgeball at youth group... The frayed ends are from getting stuck in a mosh pit (and getting out alive thank gawd :D)... Anything I can do to them to make something cool outta them? I can't bear to give them up.
    And yes, I know, I'm weird. :P
