Interesting way to make fabric cuffs! I liked the clothes at Honeypot! :O

  • ally wrote on October 26, 5:34 pm

ur shows where u show us how to make things instead of touring places like craft fairs r much more interesting

  • ladyjane wrote on October 26, 5:50 pm

I'm wondering if somehow the making fabric out of melted plastic bags and using scrap fabric sandwiched between could work? That could get super-interesting. Seeing the wash-able fabric with the cuff made me think of it.

And yay, Plasma got featured somewhere. Wooo. How many more minutes of fame does he have left, now? *g*

The fabric cuff was really neat! I wonder if the technique could be used to make bigger pieces of fabric... hmmmmmmm....

  • tegonia wrote in reply on October 27, 5:37 pm

yes! It can be used to make larger porjects, I've seen really amazing obi-styled belts that were created by the same technique.

  • Tonya wrote in reply on October 30, 9:53 pm

Yes, but you would need a stronger stabilizer, i.e. cotton muslin or interfacing. Sooo many different things you could do...handbags, clothes, rugs(my favorite)

  • apple wrote on October 26, 6:20 pm

ooooo Rob is getting a tattoo!!!! hope you designed it yourself or got someone to design you one. I hate those people who use the boring stuff they already have at the shop. I mean who goes and says "uhhh I'll have number 25...no no wait 26, yeah 26" Its going to be on your body forever so might as well have something unique. I have a design that incorporates the opening to Beethoven's 5th around my arm. I found it fitting for the whole violin teacher thing. My students like it too.

  • kristendarling wrote on October 28, 11:32 am

hey, that cuff thing is really similar to something i do withmy scraps... ifyou take the scraps and lay them on some fusion paper, and put more on top then iron them all together, you get a similar effect! i like what she did though, it probably looks better...

  • Felicia S. wrote on October 28, 3:54 pm

I think that all of the places you guys go to are awesome. Only problem is, I live in Lynn MA. The only thing that is popular here is crime. I actually have a thrift store down my street, and the only thing I found there was a bunch of ties, that I sewed together to make a skirt. I just wish there was more. The worst part of all, I think I'm the only thread head where I live! Well, I just started to watch you guys now for a couple of months, and I just wanna say I think you guys rock.

    Peace, Gia
