Aww, it's good to see some new updates on this site! You can't live on "SH*TBYHILLARY" forever. I'm so hyped up for the Wednesday specials, because seriously, you're right, you cannot wait a week checking the site for updates. (It makes you look a bit pathetic. *COUGH*)

P.S. Corinne, I liked your shawl (at least that's what I think it is?) Very classy.

  • JT (anon) wrote on November 24, 5:15 pm

hey...I love your site and videos...but there are too few videos on how to make diy clothes for men...I was hoping that you could show us how to make cool stuff for men...

  • knitwench wrote on November 24, 5:34 pm

DON"T USE CARBON PAPER TO TRANSFER A DESIGN!!! It will RUIN your fabric. Use Saral, a brand name, you can get it at craft or art stores, which is designed to be used on fabric. You can also get a hot iron transfer pencil at craft or fabric stores. Then you can trace a pattern or draw your own. Just remember that whatever you draw will be reversed when you iron it on to the fabric. For really great embroidery check out the Embroidery Guild of America site.

  • Jenny Hart wrote in reply on November 27, 6:52 pm

The blue, chalky carbon paper is the bad stuff. What I have is some really great, graphite-based carbon paper. It won't rub off where you don't want it, and will stay where you do want it! :D But I agree, the blue stuff is awful. Check my site for it! xo

I had no idea how easy it is to embroider. But then again I am a nOOb at these things.

  • Shadow wrote on November 25, 1:02 pm

Hey, I just made this video for a contest. Tell me what you guys think:

  • TheSewthernBelle (anon) wrote on November 25, 8:19 pm

Great site, great episode! I have some embroidery floss around here somewhere...I use it to make braclets...but I may get around to hand embroidering stuff once I come up with a cool design.

Meanwhile, here's a few suggestions for the winter wear episodes. How about DIY mittens? Or, let's get crazy and make a nice warm coat (you know, something warmer than a hoodie?)

Finally, as a new member, I'd like to say thanks for this site. I graduated college with a degree in fashion design, but I have a 'real' job to pay the bills. Until I found you guys, I had very little motivation to sew. Now I'm encouraged that with a little hard work, I could actually make a real living off my dream. Thanks!

  • Shadow wrote on November 25, 8:39 pm

    Aahh! I need help @.@
I need to make a costume that looks like Altair's from Assassin's Creed for a video I have to make for a contest. Yeah. Exactly. So, I can make the weapons, but the rest I'm clueless on. I don't even know how to sew :(
I have only a few days to put the costume together, another few days to make the video, another couple to edit, and then I have to spend the next month or so promoting it as much as possible. Can anyone help with the costume? If you Google Assassins Creed Altair, you'll see the character I'm talking about. I have a large detailed image if someone can contact me and help out. My e-mail address is: thundergod@epix.net. I really appreciate any help you guys can give!

  • misskate wrote on November 26, 12:08 am

Nice! I just bought a bunch of flour-sack towels (I'm trying not to use so many paper towels! Oh, the waste!) that are in need of designs...

Oh yeah, thought I'd mention that the download for the Tote bag episode doesn't work! And I want to download it! : )

  • Lindsey wrote in reply on November 26, 3:51 pm

    Hey Misskate,

Thanks for the heads up on the Tote bag episode. The file is fixed and ready to be downloaded.

Hiya! Not really related to the topic but does anyone know what's the music in the end? I like it. :)
However I've just bought a brand new sewing machine and it can also do embroidery. I think I wil try it. ;)
