Applying Appliques and Iron on Transfers, Thread Heads

I was wondering about iron ons and screen printing. I am trying to get a symbol on a shirt that I have to dye the color I want. Would it be easier to screen print or iron the symbol on? The symbol is a horseshoe. The fabric is going to be royal blue jersey cotton. sooo...Pretty much which is better? THANKS!!

A much easier way to appliqué is to buy them already made. At applicuts.com you can choose from a range of appliqué designs and then they are laser cut and sent to you. No tracing and cutting required, and they come with a fusible backing on them. You can even email them designs and they'll cut them out for you. It means you can do much more intricate designs with no effort at all! BTW When you apply the appliqué to your clothes or quilt you should use steam on your iron. This gives a much better result then a dry iron. Of course when you are initially apply the fusible web you should use a dry iron as shown in the video.

(first time posting) i want to know what is that paper you use that sticks to the fabric when ironing, i think its a great idea. i hope you can be very explicative , because i speak spanish and i'm from Chile, so i can ask in the stores by describing the paper if they don't know the name at the shop. thank you so much! i always have a great time watching the videos :) saludos!

is there a way to not get the white part of the design on thats on the paper the shirt if its a colored shirt?>_>

When you are using the printing method were you print off the computer and iron it on can you do it on a black shirt?

Appliques rock. I think I have some of that fusible interfacing around here somewhere. Add some beads and sequins to those appliques and bling happens!

I love doing appliques they add alot to something plain. So I was wondering about batiking. Got any good info on how to batik?

You may want to keep your Pee coat plain and use multiple accessories instead. Once you change the coat you're stuck with it. Think "little black dress", I have one dress but about six toppers, which change the look completely. Try scarves, wimples, shawls, muffs, and anything else you can think of. Rule of thumb - basics in neutrals, accessories in anything/everything.

To make your boring coat unique, you could always add some thick top stitching in a contrasting color.

Appliqué is a french word. this means it is pronounced 'app-leeee-kay' not 'appli-kay'. Also the plural of appliqué is 'appliqués' not 'appliqué's'.
