    Killer episode, Rob & Corinne!
Thank you for the enthusiastic announcement for the new show. I am THRILLED to be joining Threadbanger, and can't wait to see what DIY projects other Threadheads send in.

I love what you did with the dress...too bad I'm in college and don't have a prom to go to now :(

  • Rosa (anon) wrote on February 29, 5:53 pm

That dress was amazing before you started butchering it. Now it's like every other rubbish prom dress.

    Don't do it kids.

  • Meg wrote in reply on March 1, 9:43 am

That is totally a matter of opinion. The coolest thing about this show is encouraging people to make something an unique and I think we should applaud that. It doesn't matter what ANYONE ELSE THINKS, wear what YOU LOVE!

  • Jenny (anon) wrote in reply on March 12, 9:35 pm

I agree, I would have taken off the sleeves, and changed the ruffles on the bottom. The main part of the original dress was awesome, just the ruffles had to go.

  • Kaime wrote on February 29, 6:06 pm

I would really like the new Tuesday show to focus on fashion from all around the world. every week you could focus on a different part of the world and show how to make a more ready to wear version of the fashion of that country. Like the Chinese dress Corinne was wearing in this episode. you could call it around the world Tuesdays!

  • tomothecat wrote on February 29, 6:58 pm

Corinne, you totally rock that blue qi pao!

i was wondering.. [too bad i was late]
    durin a prom..
    what would u do..
when someone wears the same dress as u...

  • zombied wrote in reply on February 29, 9:16 pm

Someone wore the same dress as me to prom. And she had better hair. And they mixed our names up in the year book. She hates me.

  • Rosa (anon) wrote in reply on March 1, 4:02 pm

Yeah I totally agree I was just really sad that that amazing dress is dead :-(

  • Rosa (anon) wrote in reply on March 1, 4:04 pm

oops, that went in the wrong place. that was to meg.

  • graymalking wrote in reply on March 3, 6:19 pm

Honestly, I don't think the dress was all that fab at all before it was modified. Butr it's like Meg said: a matter of opinion.

  • larissa (anon) wrote on February 29, 9:38 pm

!!! i totaly made a duck tape prom dress last year for a couple of my friends and me! but they definatly weren't crazy elaborate so we didn't enter. BUT we were the only ones at prom in duck tape so we were the stars!

  • ink_bottle wrote on February 29, 11:31 pm

TIP! For all you bustier gals out there: do your dress search now. Whether you DIY from an old dress or pattern or buy, boobs can be a big problem when it comes to those last few inches of the zipper.
Tailoring is inevitable for some, so get estimates from tailors because they are super expensive. But if you have the skills, DIY.

  • knitwench (anon) wrote on March 1, 9:31 am

The tie will be MUCH easier to make, and probably lay flatter, if you pin your pattern to the interlining and sew it in when you sew the seam. Trim the literlning close to the seam line, turn and procede as instructed. The knot is just a square knot. If you were a Scout it will be easy. Happy DANCING!

  • SBrewer (anon) wrote on March 1, 10:13 am

Can't wait to see your new show on Tuesday. It was so great to meet you both!!!

  • tomothecat wrote on March 1, 10:23 am

It's probably not the greatest thing to advertise eBay when its sellers are on strike because of unfair price changes....

  • Barbara (anon) wrote on March 1, 12:24 pm

Love, love love the sapphire blue asian dress! It's high time the fashion world rediscovered BLUE!

  • UnusedUsername wrote on March 1, 12:32 pm

I actually really liked the dress that Corrine was wearing in the beginning.
Didn't like the neck thing after she was done.

The bow tie's material was a little off... but when it went together with the suit it actually went pretty good.

  • UnusedUsername wrote in reply on March 1, 12:33 pm

Also some of those Duct Tape costumes...
    were a little scary.

  • KraftyKat wrote on March 1, 1:40 pm

  • voguegirl27 wrote on March 1, 6:37 pm

Big love to ThreadBanger, I'm from England and we have prom... but it's kinda a new thing around here... totally in love with prom, one I find my dress I'll be almost set .My parents haved banned me from customising my dress... oh well, I'm allowed to do it for my next prom in 2 years, and again in uni. Woop!

  • NickeyRobo (anon) wrote on March 1, 9:26 pm

I liked the dress before, too! But I also liked the after. It went by so quickly, though- can you post some photos of it in the blog?

  • Craftymama wrote on March 2, 12:05 am

I loved the black and white dress Corinne had on in the beginning! I thought at first she had made it because it was so nifty, lol. Some people just have no taste I guess. She looked smexy and fabulous. Part of that has to be her smokin' body though. Girl, you have it going on! I love the fact that you are so beautiful but not a sickly skinny nothing girl. You look healthy and fabulous.

Reusing fabric from old ugly stuff is a great idea though. I once turned a pair of old curtains and an old couch into renaissance dresses for me and my best friend, lol.

  • Craftymama wrote on March 2, 12:24 am

I just had another thought on this. You show her adding boning to the corset. Is that in the tutorial anywhere?!? I can't find it and I need to extra strength otherwise it bunches all funny. Keep up the great work on your videos y'all!!!

  • BritishGal wrote on March 2, 7:32 am

yeah we hav proms in england!! my big sis's one is soon!!!so im gonna show her this!

  • Wendy Cribb (anon) wrote on March 2, 10:17 am

I'm so glad there was a Pretty in Pink reference in this episode...that was all I could think about during the dress re-do.

  • Rachel (anon) wrote on March 2, 12:40 pm

Do you have any suggestions for how to turn an XXL mens navy dress shirt into something cool, like a dress? That would be beastly!

  • my_mohawk_is_the_SHIrT wrote on March 2, 2:22 pm

Can you guys help me out? I have to wear a kimono for foriegn language week, but I want to wear it in the traditional style in only one class. Is there a way to make it changeable? Like button a part up to make it more modern during one class, and unbutton it for foreign language? Thanks!

  • JozOffspring (anon) wrote on March 2, 3:42 pm

This episode was AWESOME!!!! also wondering if u guys know how to make a teddy bear back pack or something like that???

  • Lindsey Curley (anon) wrote on March 2, 5:37 pm

That was a cool dress you two made! Too bad people in England do not have a Prom;(

  • sewthernbelle wrote on March 2, 5:42 pm

Prom time already? Ahh...memories...didn't go with anyone, but I had a rockin dress...course that was in my pre DYI days...sides I had more fun wearing my prom dress to the formal dances my Baptist Student Union held at college...good times good times...well I'm back from vacation and once I get my hands on a digital camera, I know exactly what I get to show off on the forums. My iron on applique shirt and my dresses I made for college formals. Stay tuned!

  • CzarWars wrote on March 2, 7:52 pm

Fun episode. Love to see you guys out on the street, really great stuff. The music underneath this segment though reminded me of the Silver Shamrock commercials in Halloween 3, the one that prompted kids to put on the special masks which then resulted in all the children going mad and snakes and roaches crawling out of their faces. Yeah, not appropriate for Prom, but I have a memory corolation for the bizarre what can I say.

  • ladyjanewriter wrote on March 3, 1:53 pm

Yay! Great episode! You managed to stuff a lot of info into 7 mins 5 seconds. I give this one two thumbs up (with thimbles!)

  • legalENsane wrote on March 3, 5:20 pm

    OMG!
That Chinese Dress Corinne was wearing!
I was so thinking about making one of those for my prom dress!
    No Joke!
I've still got a couple weeks.
    My mom is a seamstress.
    NORLY.
    That's her job.
    She's pretty amazing.
Alterations, upholstery, custom clothing, you name it...
    she can do it.
    I'm sure she'll give me a hand.
    Peace out y'all!

  • Meg wrote on March 3, 6:12 pm

I hear ya. I always feel badly for the previous piece as well.

  • varty (anon) wrote on March 3, 6:13 pm

HEY i was wondering if corinne made the dress she was wearing in the episode (the chinese one) if you did, corrinne, sorry if i mispelled your name, can you show us how to make it??

  • hazel (anon) wrote on March 7, 1:55 am

I love this. I now have an idea with how to transform the "matronly" dressed my siblings gave me.

  • cody (anon) wrote on March 9, 10:41 pm

can you get boning without shredding a dress?

  • Vanessa (anon) wrote on March 14, 9:31 pm

For my prom i wore a plain black dress (bought it at my aunts thrift store for 3 dollar!).... i sewed the side so they would be scrunched and look pinup style I got alot of praise for it being so simple and up to date.....My total cost for prom was $18 three for the dress and 15 for the ticket...it was great....great episode love threadbangers
