Hey threadheads i would be forever in your debt if you gave me some ideas on turning old clothes into some sweet styles for the summer. I'm thinking like, dresses, halters, skirts... stuff like that. thanx!!!

    • mmscheerleader wrote on April 28, 6:29 pm

I just found your show, & I LOVEEEE it. I have recently been thinking about going green, but I was a bit worried. You taught me that you can still look cute while saving the earth!

nice serger...how about a tutorial on how to thread one of those bad boys? Cause lord knows my mama and I have a serger that's going unused cause we can't figure out how to thread the thing...and we lost the manual. help!

    • Sherita (guest) wrote on April 28, 1:10 pm

      hey Threadbanger,

I am relatively new to sewing....I noticed on your Earth Day Special that you were using a serger. What is the difference between a serger and a regular sewing machine. Thanks and keep up the great work!

    • Create and Destroy wrote on April 28, 11:44 am

Hey.....I think those were my Rock and Roll underwear !

    • Jeannie (guest) wrote on April 30, 4:57 pm

this is from rosie: this website is so cool a I am a starting fashion designer and I have some pretty good skills but I need more so this website is so helpful and I will try the projects.

    • minx (guest) wrote on April 27, 7:10 pm

There's not enough actual cool fashion how to's anymore. My favorite episode was when you showed us how to make a really cute shrug out of an old sweater. I totally did it myself and it's so hot! I really wanna see more episodes where you actually show me how to MAKE something hot to wear. Who cares about what all these other people are doing. I really don't care about some chick's fashion show where all the clothes just look really boring.

    • Guesty (guest) wrote on April 27, 9:58 pm

I thought the fashion show was great. All that money went to charity and she's so young! Maybe that part of the episode didn't show you how to make anything, but it certainly inspired people to try and do similar shows with charitable donations! Stop being so rude and try to come up with some of your own ideas.

    • cassie (guest) wrote on April 29, 2:30 pm

I agree it would be nice if Rob and Corrrine taught us how to make every wearable item in the world but they are only human! It must be so much hard work to come up with a new episode every 7 days and I think a lot of people who make requests on here don't think about that.

I also agree that the clothes in the fashion show were nothing amazing but this girl is SEVENTEEN and did a whole freaking fashion show - what have you done?? hehe

    • Michelle* wrote on April 29, 3:57 pm

whoa, how could an earth-friendly fashion show that raises money for charity be boring. And they DID make something this episode, btw.

    • Jeannie (guest) wrote on April 30, 4:57 pm

Well, there are so many wonderful tutorials already, plus the amazing forums, so I'm sure you could find something new and fantastic there. I love that the shows are well-rounded and directed at making us more aware and responsible consumers as well as tapping into our creative drives. If nothing else, I challenge you to come up with something great so they can feature you in the next episode! Then, we'll learn a hot new trend from you! :)

    • SparkleChyld wrote on April 27, 9:53 am

I really want to purchase a serger, what are the price ranges? What are some "out of the box" ideas you can do with a serger?

    • Strings (guest) wrote on April 26, 9:27 pm

HEy could you guys do a tutriol on how to costumize your old white sneakers because i have a ton of them thanks

    • Barret wrote on April 26, 1:03 pm

I loved the episode! You guys are crazy amazing! A picnic blanket backpack? Wow! I sure wish The Wearable Collctions Project is awesome. How is this the first time I have heard about something like this?!?! Kayla is the cutest thing ever! Way to have a great mission so early on! Thanks for rocking Rob and Corinne! See ya!

    • angelfire wrote on April 26, 12:13 pm

Wow, that episode was so awesome! I hope that I can do something like that in the next three years, and I was heart-broken by the guys whose friend got paralyzed.
Btw, (I always feel like I'm pointing these things out T.T) the syncing with the sound and the video were off on the windows download. Thx!

    • Meg wrote on April 26, 11:41 am

Ooooh, look at that new serger!!!!! Go sew, girl. Yep, I typed that.

    • Meg wrote on April 26, 11:37 am

What a fantastic episode. Wearable Collections is AWESOME! 400 pounds of clothing NOT in the landfill, going to charity. What rad dudes.

    • Cupcake185 wrote on April 26, 10:59 am

Wow this vid was awesome :)
Im a new member!! And have already made quite a few things from your tutorials..
I was wondering where you got your pins from? The ones you use in the picnic blanket tutorial.. im in australia so not too sure if i could get them from here :(

    • Alex (guest) wrote on April 25, 11:41 pm

That's a fantastic school project! Great job :)

    • kn1pl1 (guest) wrote on April 25, 11:32 pm

So, people usually throw unwanted clothes in the garbage? Seriously? News to me - how wasteful!

      Great episode. Thanks.

    • corinneleigh (guest) wrote on April 26, 6:11 pm

4% of all the stuff in landfills is clothing...crazy right?
the average american throws away 68lbs of clothes every year.

    • Jeannie (guest) wrote on April 30, 4:53 pm

That's insane. Why not at the very least donate them to Goodwill or The Salvation Army? Hmmm.... I'll have to think of a way to start a clothing drive in my community!

    • fieryice wrote on April 25, 11:26 pm

Woot for Earth Day! Its awesome to see how Kayla planned and accomplished her eco fashion show! And the backpack was really cute ^^

    • Eric (guest) wrote on April 25, 10:39 pm

I must protest one of your tips to "go green" Turning off your computer at night and then turning it on in the morning will NOT help. If your computer hibernates, just let it do that and it will use less energy to turning it off then on

    • gypsychic wrote on April 25, 9:47 pm

sweetness!!!! My Earthday advice is to stop buying books and use your local public library!!!! my local library even has an online library with downloadable adiobooks and ebooks all FREE!!!! (gads of professionally evaluated databases too) there are even quite a few crafty books online.....

    • pebbles87 wrote on April 25, 9:01 pm

    • Abbie (guest) wrote on April 25, 6:26 pm

I am so proud of Kayla and all of my other students that made this happen! As I said in your episode, she definately gets an A+.

    • knitandsew (guest) wrote on April 25, 6:01 pm

This episode combined three of my favorite things: Eco-Friendly projects, Threadless T-shirts, and Janome sergers! I recently purchased a janome serger with a "serger fund" I started in 8th grade.

It would be cool if you had an occasional show witth projects aimed directly at serger use. Maybe "serger sunday?"

    • twoandahalf wrote on April 25, 6:26 pm

If they started a serger sunday I would totally have to go buy one. Picnic Blanket Backpack RULES!

    • corinneleigh (guest) wrote on April 26, 6:09 pm

      hmmmm...surger sundays you say...

    • Jeannie (guest) wrote on April 30, 4:51 pm

Loved the blanket idea :) This summer I plan on adding lots of summer dresses to my wardrobe. Could you guys do an episode about summer dresses (and maybe summer friendly guy clothes as well)? I would LOVE it! You guys really inspire me.

    • KiraVonConcrete wrote on April 25, 4:21 pm

Holy Moly what a great episode! The fashion show ROCKED, Kayla! Whoo-Hoo! Go grrl. And the blanket is primo.
I made a "catch a few rays/ eat a sammich/ read a chapter/ watch an outdoor concert" blanket out of used (and cleaned) disposable (ie: plastic) table cloths (with the fuzzy stuff on one side) and fabric scraps. Fun patchy fabric on one side and waterproof on the other!
      Plop down anywheres.
ROCK. On. ThreadHeads. Rock. On. (snip snip)

    • Lia (guest) wrote on April 25, 3:16 pm

I loved the fashion show. I'm so glad she raised that much money to donate, and I think I've got some digging around for more eco-friendly alternatives to making my own. And yay, you used my tip. I wish I could get a Wearable Collections bin here, but we're so far from NYC. :( Thanks for the great ep!
