I love the white poofie skirt in the background on the maniquin! It screams potential. Halloween, even every day. Any chance that that will be on a future episode?

    • silentwalruspro (guest) wrote on September 7, 11:04 pm

what was the name of the store you bought the top hat from? i found lots on line but there very expensive! how much was yours?

    • CostumeNazi wrote on September 7, 9:25 pm

You could make some gauntlets with thermals. Try using a razorblade to slash them up once they're fitted for a cool mesh look. You can also make pouches for iPods, sunglasses, coins, etc.

I love it when you guys (and IndyMogul) read off forum usernames, it cracks me up to hear "dudeguy 3 H 9 tilda underscore dollarsign peadbody yo!"

OMG! I totally love that sweater! It is so fun!

    • gigglefritz wrote on September 6, 6:23 pm

oh, and for making the leg warmers from the thermals, put gromets in them for fun so they lace up, 'cause that looks different and cool. I did that, and people are always asking where I bought them. =)

    • gigglefritz wrote on September 6, 6:21 pm

I am obsessed with leggings, esspecially fun ones, because they are so warm, and if you where them with shorts, you look different, which I am all for. So, yeah, leggings, or legwarmers, which I tend to keep pencils and stuff in.

YAY! I got a mention by Corrine!

I got a few suggestions for the thermal wear ...
      1) shawl+hoodie or mittens+beanie (threadbanger past project)
      2) cut them up in strips and knit them into stuff
      3) cutting off the sleeves, turn it into long gloves + the remaining bit, turn it into a vest.
      4) patchwork blanket or sleeping bag
      5) you could just donate the perfectly good thermal wear to homeless people, they would be really grateful...
      Cheers!

okay first of all how can cyrillo be hating on tb thats just lame ever think maybe home girl knows what a thrift store is or that maybe she made it her self cause you buy fabric like that for pretty cheap..... that is all i am saying!

why yall gotta hate? share the love geese !
      any ways

thermals - cut sleeves off = leg warmers (might have to add elasctic to the top to keep them snug)

the rest of your material left over cut down the middle and sew bias tape to all edges of thermal then use any scrap fabric to embelish or paint something use buttons old belt buckles bows bottle caps idk get creative with embelishment
oh and you can even add a hood to this vest super easy use a good sized hood you already have as a pattern then use up another thermal to make it and dont forget the bias tape!!

      ultra super long sorry

Oh, the new schedule makes me so happy. Can't beat more threadbanger goodness. And thanks for directing us to the rouching how-to. I am really looking forward to trying it! Thanks!

    • Blake (guest) wrote on September 5, 10:38 am

Aha. The new schedule was pretty sudden I guess, and I missed any announcements, so I thought Threadbanger might have been slowing down a bit for some reason. But that's cool. More stuff, sweet :P. Cool to share the stuff you always mention in your other videos but never used to list off in videos for people to check out. Nice idea.

    • TechnoticTears wrote on September 5, 1:44 am

Oh that was so awesome! Thanks...

I can't believe I was mentioned in a video *I was under a guest name, aka Mandy* I was really excited... feels like I'm a celebrity because normally everyone on different sites forget about me :(( lol!

    • Betty (guest) wrote on September 4, 10:47 pm

i would make leg warmers outta them!
they'll be thin so you could wear them with boots. aw cute.

    • ryden1172 (guest) wrote on September 4, 9:31 pm

Love the new schedule also! For the thermals maybe you could cut up the sleeves or neckline and make different style shirts. Or you could use the material to line a hoodie or a jackeT?

    • ambrella wrote on September 4, 9:25 pm

I think you could try making some super funky footed pajamas out of all those thermals. A one piece garment that will be the best for wintery Sundays at home.

    • MoFunky wrote on September 8, 7:55 am

Footed pajamas would be so cool. If you could do a tutorial for that, that would be awesome - you know with the button up back and everything. Actually, I might just have to try to figure that one out myself . . . we'll see.

    • amieeee wrote on September 4, 8:18 pm

i LOVE the new schedule. you guys rock.

    • twiggylea wrote on September 4, 6:35 pm

i was wondering if we could have an episode on doll clothes, it would be REALLY cool!!!

    • Leix (guest) wrote on September 4, 8:27 pm

Actually, that's not a bad idea. It's not easy sewing something so small and having it look good.

    • Eris (guest) wrote on September 4, 11:59 pm

Doll clothes would be awesome! On one of the forums I'm a member of this one girl does awesome 'anyone can sew' tutorials. They're so easy to understand! She even has one for a blazer, which I know is freaking hard to try to do on your own.

    • Havaday wrote on September 5, 2:44 pm

I like the idea, but how about plushies animals and dolls? Its a great way to use scrap fabric ...even thermals.

    • musicjunkie95 wrote on September 4, 6:31 pm

My suggestion for the thermals would be to make leg warmers and/or arm warmers with the sleeves, and you can always make like a vest or tank top with the rest of the thermal. Also, you could cut the bodies of the thermals into squares and sew them all together to make sort of a quilt/blanket, and decorate each square. There are so many possibilities!!!
      Hope that helped ;)

    • Plina (guest) wrote on September 4, 6:14 pm

I love your sweater Corinne! I'm browsing solsis.net as I type!

    • Da Vid wrote on September 4, 6:04 pm

mabye you could use one to make legwarmers and use the rest to make idk. a blare o? and then use those scraps to make armwarmers. btw cant wait to see the new shows!!!

    • Cyrilio (guest) wrote on September 4, 5:24 pm

Corrine, your totally cute and sweet, but why on a great make it yourself show like Threadbanger would you wear a luxury Missoni sweater? You must have dropped like 800$ on that thing.

I guess, the irony abounds, at least its made be a real designer :)

    • corinneleigh (guest) wrote on September 4, 5:33 pm

      hi cyrillio
the beautiful sweater i am wearing is made by an indie designer named stephanie whose company is called solsis. she is a friend of mine who lives in LA. i only buy "new" clothes from independent artists otherwise i get all of my stuff at the thrift store. thanks for your concern:)

    • Pokat (guest) wrote on September 4, 4:34 pm

I will miss Meg until she comes back from the wedding stuff but I love the new schedule. Back 2 School week and Steam punk week were awesome. Also 1 host days lets us to know them better than just reading the blog or How-To's on fridays

For Thermals you could make some awesome Pillows or cute stuffie animals. Or use them for Appliques

    • ladyjanewriter wrote on September 4, 4:19 pm

Ok! I have an idea for the thermals. One of my favorite dresses is a thermal dress (that I bought ages ago).

You could use one thermal as the top part, and then make skirt panels out of the other thermals. You can decide wherever you want the waistline (regular waist or empire waist). You can stitch the skirt panels any way you want - even in an abstract piece-y way.

It would probably sew together easier with a serger, but if you use a straight stitch and zig-zag the edges, it would work.

I'd attach the skirt to the top with a zig-zag stitch, or using the ruching method - you need some stretchiness to fit it around your body.

      Jeez this comment's long! Sorry!
