I'll be going as a faerie! Kinda a strange faerie, actually. Peasant skirt, combat boots, and a top hat and Venetian mask that I made. (Venetian mask made from paper mache, my own trial and error recipe. Top hat was from this awesome tutorial. http://idzit.deviantart.com/art/Top-Hat-Tutorial-1-81296461 )

  • Desanera wrote on October 9, 12:39 pm

My basic fall-back costume is always "Spider queen of the damned". Take a package of those spiderwebs that you stretch on your door. Also get a couple packs of plastic spiders. Then stretch it on your door and start weaving things into it - autumn leaves, plastic spiders, whatever you find neat. Then wear black velvet and wrap the web around you, including your face. Before that, paint your face with spiderwebs, and glue some spiders to your face. You can embellish it further or keep it simple, and its 10 bucks at most.

Hey there. I'm a big fan of your stuff, and I was wondering if you could give me some tips. I am planning on being the Big Bad Wolf (to go along with my roomie as Little Red Riding Hood) but I can't figure out how to make a good wolf costume that doesn't look like a toned down gorilla suit. Any ideas on something kinda sexy that I can dance in while still being wolf-like?

  • puppylov855 wrote on October 11, 6:03 pm

I'm going to a Tim Burton themed Halloween party, so I'm going as a female Willy Wonka (johnny depp style, of course) I'm heading over to the Goodwill today to try and pick up a maroon coat to alter into a dress. I think I'll also make myself a vest thanks to maniacalmickey's awesome tutorials. Top it off with a tiny top hat and hopefully I will have successfully created my first DIY costume : D
