Quickies: Buttonhole Scissors, Cutting Tools 101

I don't think that I will ever use one of these scissors...but Kenneth, you're cute :)

I sooooooo have got to get a pair of those!  I was taught another helpful hint from a sewing buddy last week.  The curved manicure scissors are perfect for snipping the bobbin thread while your fabric is caught in the machine.  The curve helps get up under the fabric so you are less likely to inadvertently cut a hole in fabric while rescuing it from the hungry sewing machine.

That was so quick I must have missed something...like how they're used.  But I guess I could ID them in a lineup or adjust a pair if I saw them.

I think I understand, the weird little notch goes over the part you don't want cut.

I was actually expecting to see these in action. Still have no idea how they work...

"Never use your fabric scissors for paper..." HA! Mom. I've destroyed so many of her 'good' scissors... in my 'youth'...

Does anyone really use these? An easier way not to cut through the stitching on a button hole is to put a pin at the end right before the stitching and use the seam ripper to cut from the beginning, once it hits the pin it won't cut anymore.

Can we see an example of these being used?
