Weekly DIY Roundup: Wreaths!
I love all the crafty, non-traditional wreaths I've been seeing around craft blogs, so I want to share some ideas with you for personalizing your holiday decorations and making your own special wreath! I love pretty much anything made from recycled sweater felt, and this wreath by swallowfield is no exception:

This patchwork wreath by JCasa Handmade is super cute and a great use for fabric leftover scraps:

And speaking of fabric scraps, check out this colorful scrap wreath by Lindamade!

Betz White took her recycled sweater brooch idea and made the pieces into this amazing wreath, full of all different kinds of felt flowers!

I love this knitting themed wreath made by ragstorichesart on craftster:

Katye Terry on Craftstylish did a great tutorial for these cute mini-wreaths that are another way to use up scrappy leftovers!

If you have no fabric scraps around your craft space, but tons of buttons, how about making a button wreath like this one on Craftapalooza?

If you're more the paper crafting type, check out this cool, minimalist paper punch wreath by Jeffery Rudell on Craftstylish:

For a more festive holiday look, but still totally different from a traditional wreath, make a sparkly tinsel wreath like this one on Red Velvet Art:

Or for a super wacky look, go nuts with a monster wreath! Callakat on craftster made this one for Halloween, but I think it would make a funny and fun holiday wreath for the winter too, especially if you used red or white fur!

For a totally recycled wreath, make one out of plastic bags! Two Peas in a Bucket shows you how in the Designer Garden.

This ice wreath by resurrection fern (with full tutorial) is amazing - if you live in a super cold spot, this would look great on your front gate!

Or if you're in a warm climate, you could make a living succulant wreath! Giantsquid on craftster made this one and hopes to be able to keep it up and growing year round...

I love how this brussel sprout wreath by Blomsterverkstad is both unique and classic looking at the same time:

If you have access to a ton of acorns, try making an acorn wreath like this one by Scribbit:

This gumdrop wreath is a fantastic holiday project to do with kids, and it looks great! The project tutorial was done by Alicia of Posie gets Cosy for the Kiddley blog.

And for the more techy crafters, check out this Geek Wreath by mcr25823 on flickr, with a photo set how-to...

...or this Junk Computer Wreath by Thevampireairion, posted on the Make blog:

If you really know what you're doing with electronics in your crafting, you could make a working Simon wreath from the old game. Ryanjrose on flickr did just that, disguising the buttons as little gifts - his flickr set shows you how he did it!

If you're more of an old technology type, grab some old 45's at your local thrift store and make a vinyl wreath like this one on Handmade Detroit!

Hope that gives you some inspiration to think outside of the traditional box this holiday season and be creative with your projects! Have fun with your crafty holiday decorations, and share your creations with the Threadhead community!
