Early Weekly DIY Roundup: Happy Inauguration Day!
I'm bringing you this week's Friday roundup early to celebrate this exciting day with some crafty goodness! When I rounded up election crafts back in November, it was really hard to keep things even between the parties, since there were far more creative Obama things going on around the web, so I'm happy to be able to bring you an all-Obama roundup today, full of hope!!

Yeah, that's me. You can make your own "Obamicon" here, it's super fun! And I hope even if you didn't vote for Obama, that you can see through party lines and still feel hopeful for the future of our country, which is what this roundup is all about!
Check out Legoland's amazing recreation of the inauguration, found on Curbly:

Back in that election day roundup, I told you about the Obama Craft Project blog, which is still going strong and is the best place to find creative Obama awesomeness. I love this piece of art recently posted there, a multi-layered stenciled work by STENZSKULLS:

Lise Gervais designed an Obama knit hat, and offers the pattern as a free pdf download. You can read about it on the Obama Craft Project, or find it on ravelry here.

That fabulous blog also pointed me to Nocturnal Knits' Obama-rama sweater pattern, also with a free download (here on ravelry).

If you're on ravelry, you can find tons more Obama knit designs, like Lauren Eaves' Obama patches, called "Ingenious Obama Logo" on rav, and Caffaknitted's Obama doll!

My favorite local yarn store here in Portland just released the pattern (and kit!) for these Obamarama socks!

If you're a crocheter, don't worry, I've got some projects for you, too! Check out AmiAmour's Obama doll on craftster!

And a ravelry search in the crochet category points me to Julee Dunekacke Jaeger's Obama Ornaments:

The Swell Life's Patriotic Poster Drink Charms would be great for any inauguration party tonight!

And One Pretty Thing did a roundup for today with lots of great party ideas!

On that party note, I'll point you over to one of my favorite funny blogs, Cake Wrecks, and their Presidential Sweet post today:

And I'll leave you with my hopefully kitten, Garbanzo!

Be sure to add any more Obama or inauguration related projects in the comments!
