To Get You in the Mood: PTB January 2008 Recap!

Since the deadline for the January 2009 long challenge is just about a week away, I thought I'd bring a recap of the January 2008 challenge to tickle your tastebuds, to get your synapses firing, to please the eye... and hopefully inspire you to join in on the new, improved Project Threadbanger. Even if you think it's too late to join in this month, be ready for February's challenge, to be released February 1st.
If you desire more recaps, hop on over to the Project Threadbanger MySpace, lovingly created and maintained by our very own postaldarkness! Or visit the PTB Flickr, fantastically archived by permanent PTB judge glass__onion!
January 2008's challenge was to "Make a shirt, jacket, hoodie, coat or dress out of something that isn't originally intended to be clothing. This can include around the house textiles, such as curtains, table cloths or bed sheets, or even something more creative." I bring you the first, second and third place winners.

Ryan stated, "This was not made with a commerical pattern, i made the pattern myself, it was so cool because it fits me very well. I just made the pattern from and old shirt, and some newspaper. The shower curtain material makes a good outer shell material, as in it acts like the outside of a windbreaker. Overall, i love this jacket."
Second Place - GypsyWildFlower - Sheet Halter Prom Dress with Bolero

Before pic: "Made from 1970's ruffled bed spread. £2.50 at the Salvation Army."

Third Place - Lizen -Short Sleeved Magazine Jacket

Why Lizen rocks extra, "I tried to pick pages that represented Threadbanger and Project Threadbanger (eg. a section on DIY, a page on decorating your bedroom the eco-friendly way, contests to enter - like Project Threadbanger, just recycling and reusing in general)"
