Weekly DIY Roundup: Knit & Crochet Scarflets and Cowls!
This week I've rounded up a huge selection of scarflets, neck warmers, cowls, or whatever else you want to call them, and I've still had to narrow it way down from all the great free patterns out there! This is a big one, so I'll keep the talking brief... Starting with knit versions with button closures, I love the squishy simplicity of knitboy1's Fourteen:

Bella Knitting has a pattern for this basic 3-button scarflet:

One Sheep Hill has the pattern for the Fidget, which uses the twisted moss stitch:

I knit, that's it blog has this 2-button Moss stitch neck warmer pattern:

Red Threads' Swirl Neckwarmer has some cool crocheted buttonholes to spice it up:

Loop knits' Herringbone Neck Warmer looks great in variegated yarn:

This Double Knitting Scarflette by KnitNCrochet looks super cool and extra warm:

This Kid Merino Ruffled Scarflet Neck Wrap by Crystal Palace Yarns is super pretty and cozy looking:

Knitty Gritty Thoughts' Spiral Cowl is indeed elegant and simple:

And I'll finish off the buttony knits with the Wicker Cafe Cowl by Vicki Peterson, with just those two top buttons for embellishment:

Onto round designs, Rebecca Hatcher designed Wave for knotions:

I love the texture created by the stitch pattern in the Beech Wood cowl by Ilga Leja:

Lolly Knitting Around has a couple free cowl patterns, including this Lichen Cowl:

And back to buttony designs, here's a crocheted version by Catherine Lindsay:

This one by PlanetJune isn't a full on pattern, but I love the idea of using tunisian crochet to make a scarflet:

And now back to knitting again - I found a bunch of great looking patterns on ravelry that are only available as ravelry pdf downloads; so if you are a ravelry member then these links are for you, and if not then you should sign up! This Rib on Rib Cowl Neckwarmer by Tess Young looks fantastically warm and cozy:

I really like this Scrunchable Cowl by Rosi Garmendia:

Emily Kausalik's A Noble Cowl is a nice lacy one:

Sylvia by Beth Carls is a very feminine eyelet-filled design:

Linda Frydl designed this Lush-ious Swirl Cowl:

I love this Bubbles & Cables Cowl by Birgitte Zeuner, and this version of it knit by lechatquitricote:

MintyFresh's Bainbridge Scarf has a really inventive closure method:

This Anthro-Inspired Scarflet by Kim Seio has a cool shape:

And I'll finish up the roundup by showing you my latest design, the Skoodlet, which is a buttoning scarflet with a hood attached (that you can put down when you don't need it). This one isn't free, so that's why I'm sticking it here at the end...

Wow that was a long one! Hope you found something you like, and be sure to support the designers by sharing your creations on ravelry and making indie pattern purchases when possible. We'd love to see any of your favorite scarflets or cowls that I missed here in the comments, and you can share your work in the forums!
