Celebrity DIY Style: Kate Bosworth's Recycled Zippers
I never thought of myself as a zipper fanatic, that is until I found myself purchasing zippers in bulk from ebay last week. While I have projects in mind for most of my new notions, I'll probably have have more zippers than what I know what to do with. So the other night, I started searching for ideas that might help me use up my stash - that's when I saw it, Kate Bosworth in Phillip Lim's recycled zipper dress. However, Ms. Bosworth's dress isn't the only thing that caught my attention, it was these zipper brooches, necklaces, and cuffs by Kate Cusack that made me swoon. Care to make one or two of these for yourself? Cut Out & Keep has a tutorial for a fabulous zipper necklace while both Martha Stewart and Craftster have instructions to make your own brooch (but don't stop there, smaller versions can embellish clothing, added to bobby pins and hairbands, or even sewn to handbags).
