How to Make a Woven Button Coaster
Did you know March is button month!? If you're looking for a simple way to celebrate I suggest this meditative coaster project suggested by Apartment Therapy and CraftStylish.
Materials:
- 81 four-hole buttons (if you use something larger than 3/8-inch buttons, you can probably get away with fewer buttons)
- Small amount of embroidery floss
- Needle (that fits through the button holes)
- Scissors
- Time
1) Stitch rows of 9 buttons together as shown above, making a total of eight 9-button chains. (Visit CraftStylish for throurough instructions)
2) Line up the chains and using a different colored thread and sew up the first hole in the buttons the way you did in the original chains.
*Remember, you can change colors as you wish! Once you've sewn all the button holes you're done, you party animal you.
Thanks to Danielle at Apartment Therapy for the tip-off on this cool project!
