Build a Slouchy Spring Bag

Getting yourself a new spring sack is easy! To create this large, crescent-shaped hobo bag you will need a large square scarf of about 81 cm or piece of fabric or tablecloth of 114 cm. If you don't have either of these items lying around, decorative scarves are plentiful at thrift shops and fabric is easy to cut out of something else you find there like a skirt or big shirt. If you do salvage squares of fabric plan to sew seams so that your freshly cut piece does not unravel. I used an old silk skirt I found for a buck in a purple flower pattern perfect for spring!
Here's "how-to" thanks to LivingCreatively:
- First, lay the scarf or fabric face down.
- Tie a knot about one-third of the way from a corner to create a tail.
- Repeat the tail-knotting on the other three corners.
- Finally, tie the two bottom tails together in a tight knot so that the bright part of the fabric will be visible on the outside of the bag. Follow with the top two tails and you're one step closer to slinging a new sack over your bare shoulders this spring!
