It doesn't matter if you use it for carrying your laptop, books, or everyday gear, guys and gals alike can regularly be seen wearing messenger bags - even celebrities.  While some of the designer versions can cost over id="blog_post",000, sewing one up can be made for around (depending on your pattern, fabric, and notion selections).  Many commerical pattern companies carry messenger designs:  Simplicity has 4391 and 9000, Vogue 8407, Green Pepper 875, Burda 9586).  However, there are several independent designers with their own versions:  Nicole Mallalieu, Amy Butler, and Sew Liberated and lots of free online tutorials including this one from Craftster, savvyseams, How About Orange, and an awesome knitted, felted design from Stephen Houghton just to name a few.  Whats your favorite messenger pattern?
