Does this  work with synthetic (plastic or pleather) shoes?

is there a way to make this work with shoes that aren't open-toed? I found a beautiful pair of shoes that are a tiny bit to smalls in the toes, and I was wondering if anyone knew another way to stretch them.

that's a great idea, and you don't have to by shoe stretchers, i looked for some and they were more than I wanted to spend.

Every podiatrist might cringe at the trying to buy shoes too small, but fashionistas rejoice!
