Celebrity DIY Style: Celebrity Undies

With rumors that Renee Zellweger looking to reprise her roll as Bridget Jones, I started thinking about famous underwear scenes in the movies. Who could forget Briget's big knickers scene, Jamie Lee Curtis' strip routine in True Lies, Sigourney Weaver in Alien, and Jesse Metcalf in John Tucker Must Die? Instead of shelling out a pair at lingerie speciality stores, you can make several pairs with scrap material (or even recycled t-shirts), a few yards of elastic, and a really great pattern. Commercial companies such as Jalie, Kiwk Sew, and McCall have several patterns and styles to chose from. However, the internet has just as many to chose from including this t-shirt underwear pattern from the Super Naturale, MarmaDaisy's tutorial which eliminates the need for stretch fabric, and this version found on Craftster that scraps elastic all together! Most sewing centers will carry a majoity of the supplies needed to create your new panties. However, if you're having trouble tracking down a particular notion there are several online retailers that specialize in lingerie - Sew Sassy Fabrics, Fay's Fabrics, Sew Essential, and Lucy's Fabrics.
