Weekly DIY Roundup: Quick Knit and Crochet Patterns!

Small items are great for summer knitting and crochet, when the last thing you want is a pile of wool on your lap. So this week I'm taking advantage of my brand new addition to my personal website - leethal quick knits - and I'm showing you my favorite patterns from my list of designs that use less than 20 yards of yarn. The list is divided into categories, so I'm picking a few from each, starting with accessories and Star Athena's rockin' Band Cuffs!

I love A House Called Nut's Bangle Wristwarmers:

Yarn Pixie's Finger Sweater was designed for the purpose of protecting your finger from yarn burn, but I would knit one in a fun color and just wear it as an accessory!

Next category is toys and decor, starting with Knit for Your Life's Floofy Cupcakes!

I am so creeped out (in a good way!) by these Felted Kodama Dolls by filmcraft!

Tina Hilton shares a pattern for Knit Everlasting Autumn Leaves for us lovers of the season:

Onto the silliness category! There are more knit moustache patterns out there than you'd think - my favorite is probably Fu-Manchuesdays on Sweet little domestic life:

I don't know what Time Crash is (where this pattern concept came from) but I think knit celery is kind of awesome - the pattern is by Megzie-Woodles on livejournal:

Am I weird to think these Gruesome Knitted Eyeballs by Mary Jane, Midge & Mink are cute?

Ok enough of the silly, moving on now to useful stuff - like this Key Cozy by Liat Knits! A much more attractive way to tell keys apart than those plastic/rubber covers...

DaniDo Crafty designed this clever Teacup Handle Sweater (ravelry users can see pictures here):

This cute buttoned Easy Peasy iPod Cozy on Craftivist will hold both the iPod Touch and the Zune:

Last is the crochet category, but I'll choose more than 3 to even out the crafts better... first up, these awesome Luna Lovegood's Radish Earrings on Thread Bear:

Craft Leftovers offers the pattern for these crocheted Sun Tea Spot coasters:

And Tibbi's Space has this super clever design for ID Wine Glass Coasters - make a set in different colors and everyone knows which glass is theirs!

I love the cool, wavy design created by combinations of half-double, double, and single crochet stitches in this cuff pattern by Midnight Knitter:

Girl on the Rocks designed this silly, yet useful, Monster Finger Chapstick Cozy:

This Jack Skellington ball by Because Mommy Said So would be a great kids' toy for Tim Burton fans:

I think these crocheted Springtime Tulips are adorable - by the knitted cupcake:

And I'll round out this roundup with one last knitting pattern, by myself for my new leethal quick knits (which has a club!) - Penta-Coasters! Designed to either felt or not, you can read the pattern on my blog...

Hope this gives you knitters and crocheters something fun to work on in the summer heat!

Add a CommentI _adore_ the eyeballs. I've been knitting them like crazy! There's a mason jar full of them right next to me at the moment too. :)
