Celebrity DIY Style: Zooey Deschanel Wrap Dress

Even though I'm partial to trendy clothes, I love to see that some looks never go out of style. The wrap dress made famous by Diane von Furstenburg in the 1970s, has continued to be popular in every day wear and formal events alike. A great example is Zooey Deschanel who wore this fabulous frock to the (500) Days of Summer premiere. To recreate Zooey's look, sew up your version with a border print jersey, cotton weave, or taffeta (if the pattern doesn't call for a knit) and use of of these great styles: Vogue 1027 or 8379, McCall 5752, Butterick 5030, Burda 7828 or 7953, Simplicity\New Look 6674, Hot Pattern's It's A Wrap or Cosmopolitan dress, or BurdaStyle's (free) Hope Wrap. No matter which pattern you choose, you can be sure that your new design will stay in style for a long time!
