We are super excited to announce this month's Spotlight Banger:

  Todd, known as Madonnaontherocks on the forums, makes the most spectacular jewelry ever, blending classic styles and antique pieces with modern influences. We're proud to have such talent on the guild. Read on below for an interview & lovely photos of his work!

1) Your TB name and Name of your Etsy shop as well as the link to it.

My name is Madonnaontherocks, and my etsy shop is Dazeoftheweek, at www.dazeoftheweek.etsy.com.

2) How did you hear about Threadbanger?

I first found it on youtube, it was during the summer and i think it was on the front page? Anyway, I remember it was the episode where they showed how to make a T-shirt quilt! And I've been here ever since... ^_^

3) How long have you been sewing/crafting?

I've been crafting... forr... Well, I guess I've been creating something all my life! But i've been making jewelry for a couple years now, and its a constant improvement for me.

4) What inspires your creations and creativity?

So many things! From jewelry on the runway, to old photos of women, clad with costume jewelry. I think everyone is inspired by nature, as well, one way or another. I like including bits of nature into some of my pieces, wether by using wood beads, or including a piece of coral in a cluster
I also like to put part of my inspiration into names for my items, sometimes.

5) What have you made this month/or lately?
(What kind of style or item are you making lately?)

I want to make larger, more glamourous pieces of jewelry. I have urges to make everything multi-stranded, chunkier, junkier, funkier, and make handmade more popular!
I'd say I'm making more jewelry that speaks to my soul.

6) What do you plan to accomplish in the future with your sewing/crafting skills? Or shop?

I just want people to wear Dazeoftheweek Jewelry, and be happy in it! I want to be able to sell at a craft show, but that'll take quite a while for Mr.Procrastination, here, to build up an inventory...

7) What is the meaning of life to you?

Life is how you live it. Make the most of what you have .

8) Is there anything you'd like to say to the fellow guild members and Thread Heads out there?

Keep your awesome work up! And make sure to show your guild pride!


9) What is your favorite aspect of the guild?

The unity, where even though we all have such different styles, tastes, skills, ascetics, etc... we all are bound by the two factors, threadbanger and etsy! I think its a wonderful thing.
