In the Bag

Although Mary-Kate may have perfected the look, Demelza Hill is the ultimate bag lady. This British chippie, originally from Hertfordshire, is making a splash as an intern for the Tom Dixon Studio. Hill’s designs shine new light on every day objects and materials so the user becomes more aware of its possibilities. Combining art and function, Hill turns ordinary objects into extraordinary items. Her RugBag is ingenious, frankly. Instead of lugging all your favorite items on a picnic, now you can store it all in one bag…blanket included. The tote folds and unfolds quite nicely for a chic and sturdy design. The exterior is made from polyurethane nylon, which makes it a cinch for wiping down after a picnic in the park or a day at the beach, while the screen-printed bird and flower design make it oh-so-fashionable. The inside is made from cotton and has the same decorative bird pattern as the outside.
While you’re at it, check out Hill’s other creative designs like the convenient Flat Back Carrier, which folds flap when not in use, or the Snap and Dine Set with everything you need to eat out in style. Who said art couldn’t be functional?!
