    DIY Christmas party!

POSTED BY Lindsey Chen, 06 December 2007

So it's officially the holidays and you're throwing an amazing Christmas get together. But this time, you want to make it special... and you don't have much time on your hands. Well, here are a few tips and ideas that will make your party the talk of the season. And the best part is that you don't much time! So let's get crafting!

    1. Flashing Santa / Elf Christmas hats!: Everyone wears their boring old red santa hats, why not add some lights? Everything is better with lights, anyway. Here's one that you can make quickly for less thank $10 bucks. Thanks Buzz_Kill on Instructables! P.S. Santa will be jealous.

    2. No Sew Holiday Table Runner: We know that you're going to be throwing a classy party, because let's face it.... you're crafty and beer and peanuts just won't cut it. So what better way than to make a nifty no-sew (which means NO HASSLE) table runner to spice up your table? Thanks to Design Sponge (via Craftzine), you'll be partying in no time!

    3. 3D Paper Snowflakes: It's snowing! Yes, these festive snowflakes look hard to make, but they really aren't! All you need is some paper, tape, scissors, thread and a stapler and you'e on your way to transforming your boring old living room into a winter wonderland. (via DIY Happy)

    4. Christmas Holiday Drinks: What's a party without some holiday beverages? Well.. It's not a holiday party! Thankfully, I found a list of many different holiday drink ideas on Wisebread. From Mulled Cider to Souped up Hot Chocolate, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Bottoms up!

    5. The Centerpiece: Last but not least, the centerpiece is the star of the party. We all know that a festive table can be just as much of a scene stealer as a christmas tree. Here's a fabulous easy to make, but difficult / intricate looking holiday centerpice, thanks to GlamNest... that will have all of your guests wondering just how you did it. But shhh... don't tell them, its' really not that hard!

      great post.

Also, a great way to reuse old scraps of ribbon, is to make them into a DIY garland. Everyone is left with those 4"-5" scraps of ribbon that won't work as a bow. Simply gather your scraps, and loop them together. attach the loops with staples or glue and you can use all those little pieces for a brand new decoration. I have a pic of mine, where can I post that mug?
