Patterns from the Past
Love vintage clothes? Second hand stores not satisfying your craving for all things vintage? Why not make your own! We talked to the owner of this awesome site for recycled vintage patterns, Michelle Lee.

"Patterns from the Past is a internet based company that sells vintage sewing patterns from the turn of the century to present day. All of the patterns were previously owned by someone else - so this is a very large re-cycling project for me that started over 11 years ago when the world wide web was just showing up.
People use my patterns to create new fashions based on old fashions, or to find patterns for items that the "big 4" (the major sewing pattern companies) aren't putting in the sewing books right now. An example is jumpsuit patterns. People are starting to wear them again, but there aren't patterns available for them."
The vintage patterns are taken from old sewing books and fashion magazines like Vogue, back when Vogue included not only the trendiest fashions, but also how to make them. This is when your mom most likely had a dress from somewhere. Those days have passed, but not completely. Some true die–hards are keeping the traditions alive, modernizing them, re-fashioning them, and preserving them. This site is for you guys.
So, if you need some patterns for making something vintage but out of modern or new fabric, this is your site. These patterns are perfect for making something really different or new. Combine the old with the new– make a skull and crossbone swing dress or a really wild pencil skirt. These patterns are perfect for getting really creative and even for making themed costumes.
Patterns from the Past has patterns for all women of every shape and size, and don't worry guys there are patterns for you too. Babies, children, teens, crocheting, tatting, knitting, summer, winter, weddings!–This is a gem of a site. Some really gorgeous fashions and a lot of potential. Take advantage! Get the patterns before someone else does!!!
