The Good T-Shirt
This year is all about being Green, people, and it is getting easier and easier to do just that. There are so many websites, organizations, and commercials helping people get involved in small ways that make big differences. Get those ideas of "But I'm only one person and I can't make a difference boo hoo hoo" out of your head! You can and will make a difference!!!
Sites like We Add Up and Treehugger are going to prove all you doubters out there wrong. Just because something isn't right in front of your face doesn't mean it isn't happening and it isn't big. "We Add Up" is a site dedicated to the climate crisis and, by promoting and selling organic cotton shirts, this site demonstrates the global count of people committed to stopping climate change. The shirt will literally assign you a tally number that will appear on the shirt's front while the back will advertise the commitment that YOU are making. There are twenty different efforts you can commit to that will appear on your shirt and all are simple and easy to do like buying local produce or switching from incandescent bulbs to compact fluorescent light bulbs which last 12 times longer. And even if you don't like the shirts you should still switch all your light bulbs and shop with reusable bags
How to find such sites, you ask? Go to Treehugger.com, a media outlet for all your green news, which is where I found the We Add Up t-shirts. Keep up to date on all eco-friendly and globally progressive fashion, beauty, architecture, cars, and basically everything else. This site is really all about being informed and nothing is more important than knowing your sh*t, so check the up-to-the-minute blogs, news, culture, and health sections too.
Oh and you might even want to check out Threadbanger's sister network Viropop. It's all about the new environmental pop culture and the fun, weird, interesting, and sometimes even gross things that are perpetuating it. Seriously, it's really funny.
