Top 10 Apartment Therapy

POSTED BY Kendra Cunningham, 29 December 2007

So I was browsing the Apartment Therapy site because soon I will have to move out of my friend's apartment and become a functioning member of society. I know, it sucks. But this site is a really cool resource for people that need furniture, furniture ideas, design ideas, and space planning.

I was first attracted to the site when I saw the post about their Top 5 Cheap Furniture Basics. Technically they're not basics because four out of five of the pieces are book shelves and the fifth one is a table, on which you can put books. Sure, I love books. They make me look smart and I always cary around a copy of The Idiot by Dostoevsky, you know, just for conversation's sake even though I've never actually read it. But the point is, I need a bed and a dresser and probably a chair too. And if you are looking for the Top 4 Book Shelves with 1 Table it's a good list, and if you need just about anything else, Apartment Therapy's got a Top 10 list about it. Top 10 Clocks, Top 10 Bathroom Scales, Top 10 Beds with Storage. Don't you wish everything in the world could be compiled into a Top 10 list? Life would be so much easier for people like me who agonize on whether I should get the spaghetti pasta with basil or roast beef sandwich for lunch. If I asked the waiter for a Top 10 list of their dishes, he'd probably say no and go away but he should really consider it.

Apartment Therapy also offers great plans for DIY home accessories, like making a vintage-looking bottle dispenser or an artichoke candle. You can also learn where to hang curtains and even what color to paint the walls -– that stuff is fun. You can tour houses and rooms of many different styles and themes, take want you want from each and design a room or a home with your own flair. Apartment Therapy is a great place to learn about home design and get connected.... so make sure that you're connected with Apartment Threapy!

Where is that deer cork image from? Is it a stopper for a wine bottle? If so I want to know how to make one! it's super cute. Is it somewhere on the Apartment Therapy website?
