I'm in the market for a new headboard so thanks for the post. We once made one with colored Duct Tape on an episode of Craft Lab. In college I covered a door with padding and faux leopard skin and it worked out nicely.

Greetings Meg! I was curious if you have any tips for a DIY blinds for windows. Curtains aren't very practical for my room with my decor, and I'd prefer not to spend tons of money on some bamboo blinds. Any tips? Thanks a bunch! I just stumbled onto your show today and watched every episode :)
I made some roman shades/blinds out of some old sheets for all of my family's bedrooms and livingroom since I really wanted the functionality. I got the directions off of DIYNetwork.com. They are really simple to follow and if you don't want to do everything (like the roman shade tape with the rings) it is pretty easy to skip to save some more cash.
