Weekly DIY Roundup: Bulletin Boards!
I don't know about you, but I've been in a super organizing and decorating mode lately. Something about the weather and the extra sunshine I suppose. So I've been thinking about different kinds of bulletin boards (or inspiration/cork/magnetic/etc boards) and clicking around for ideas. So far I've made this fabric covered cork board for my studio. It's just a cheap bulletin board from ikea with vintage fabric wrapped around and stapled in the back with a normal stapler - super easy!

Shiso mama made a huge fabric covered board using homasote (a building material made of recycled paper) instead of cork.

Another crafty idea is this embroidery hoop cork board by sweet jessie. I'm gonna have to try this one!

Some non-fabric-covered cork board ideas... "Op Art Bulletin Board" by Chrisjob on Curbly:

And Jennifer Wolfe's custom cork boards on design*sponge:

Or try sticking some cork onto a cabinet, like this spice cabinet by MadVegetarian on Instuctables.

One of my favorite ideas, get recycley! If you're a wine drinker, save those old corks and put them to great use! Phil Treble will show you how on instructables.

And I absolutely love this Scrabble bulletin board in Readymade magazine:

If you want some ideas that won't put holes in your pictures, I've got plenty of those too! I've always loved magnetic boards, and I think this ruler "board" by Craft Chi is genius!

This cable and magnet idea by noahw on instructables is perfect for those with very limited wall space.

And if you're reeeally into the magnet thing, check out My Aim Is True's magnetic poster wall!

Another kind of board type that doesn't require pins is ribbon or rubber band boards. The concept is simple, just stretch a bunch of ribbons, or yarn, or big rubber bands around a board and stick your pictures through them. Marthastewart.com has a cute rubber band version, and Pixie Blossoms blog has a tutorial for a board that mounts to your fridge with a magnet sheet. And I love this version with striped ribbon on diy life.

Yet another option is to use clothespins to hold your pictures, like Alison of Sylphofthestitch on decor8:

Or go crazy with a whole wall full of clothespinned pictures with this idea by where's my daughter on blogspot:

Lastly, I love this super creative use of old forks to hold smaller papers like business cards, by DIY Maven on Curbly.
