Worn Out: Street Style Pics of the Week
Yo guys! Here are my top 5, very-favorite looks from the street style blogs last week - and, as always, be sure to leave love and/or dissenting opinions in the comments section...

Two very different looks (the left from a May 20 post at Copenhagen Street Style; the right from May 23 at Munich's Style Clicker) with the same starting point - a basic t-shirt. The left picture is a great example of how to dress-down a glitzy piece; the heavy shoes and ultra-casual tee and accessories make the satin skirt absolutely daytime-appropriate. It's interesting to note how unexpected her mix of fabrications are - the earthy bag strap and scarf definitely wouldn't be the first things I reached for with the sleeker skirt and black shoe choice, but it ends up looking so balanced. And for the picture on the right, while I firmly believe that dogs Should Not Smoke, this summer is abolutely the season of the off-kilter t-shirt, and that tee is nothing if not spot-on.

Both of the above ladies - from a May 24 post at Hel-Looks and a May 25 post at Stil In Berlin, respectively - cut gorgeous, vintage-inspired figures. The ice cream cone (mmm, delicious accessories), pretty vintage top, curve-defining belt, and pin up-worthy peeptoes on the left all smack of '50s, all-American bombshell Marilyn Monroe; the chic androgyny of outfit on the right is pure '30s era Katharine Hepburn (or, as a surely-German Stil In Berlin commentor astutely pointed out, Marlene Dietrich). So lovely.

Clearly I'm a bit gender-biased this week - no gentlemen made the cut - so it should come as no surprise that my favorite picture (from a May 23 post at Face Hunter) is ultra-feminine to the hilt. I love everything from the ruffles and puff-sleeves of the dress to the ladylike nude fishnet stockings, milkmaid braids, and satin headband she accessorized with. The entire look is grown-up but so youthful and refreshing (and how fresh-faced is her little one! So cute!). I can only hope that a garden party or an invitation to an outdoor wedding lies in my near future so that I can have an appropriate venue to try this look out fot myself.
