Worn Out: Street Style Picks of the Week
Hey guys! It's Tuesday - which means it's time to check out my five favorite outfits from last week's street style blogs. Be sure to leave word of YOUR favorite street style sites in the comments section...

These two were both so squeaky-clean classic that they were hard to resist. The ultra-clean black&white look on the left (from a June 1 post at GlamCanyon) is made even more chic by the unexpectedly sheer top; the ruffle detail at the sleeve keeps things sweet and both the barrette and the too-long belt were really interesting ways to personalize the look. The outfit on the right (from May 29 at AltaMiraNYC) is all about personalization - the rolled-up shirtsleeves and cuffed denim are great ways to lend a laid-back vibe to any outfit involving a tie - which, along with the smart-looking man-bag and cap, manages to effortlessly elevate a look that's denim-based to something a bit more grown-up. I'm a big fan.

I found these ladies (the left is a June 2 snap from Street Peeper; the right from a May 30 post at The Sartorialist) enviable not only for their quirky individual styles but for their mega-cute little haircuts as well. The girl on the left is wearing head-to-toe vintage; each piece has its own points of interest (the sailor buttons on the shorts; the animal print of the shoes; the puff-sleeves and tie-neck of the blouse) but, when worn together, no one piece competes for attention. She was smart to ground it all with a solid-looking leather belt, and the sum is a really lovely, calm outfit. The look on the right is also a hodgepodge of pieces that add up to one cohesive statement. Instead of clashing horribly with the duo-tone striped dress, the colorful bag works as a humorous partner in crime, livening up an outfit that, at first glance, is terribly serious. The men's bowtie, the layered socks, and the easy fit of the dress counteract the severity of the oxford shirt and all that black - I kind of want to let this girl have a go at my closet and see what sort of inside jokes we can come up with together.

My favorite look last week was from a recent "Street Seen" post (scroll down for it) at Refinery29. While the tuxedo pants on the gent at right are certainly dashing, my eye went straight to the ultra-trendy but oh-so-timeless outfit at left. The ultra-skinny dark denim and the great fit of the button-up alone would have made for a classic (if a little restrained) look, but the addition of the on-trend gladiator sandals, perforated belt, and AMAZING shield necklace elevate this above and beyond. And just think - a simple shoe swap and this outfit is not only seasonless but appropriate for just about any occassion. She's definitely my weekly get-dressed inspiration.
