Vintage Knitting Needle Jewelry!
I first saw this idea maybe a year ago, and I'm sure it's been around way longer than that, but I finally got around to trying it out yesterday and it's superrad!

It's the same concept as the classic toothbrush bracelet, so the directions are basically the same: put vintage plastic knitting needles in boiling water till they're pliable, then bend them as you choose.
Here is a blog post on diylife about the bracelets, and another on Elliphantom Knits with a basic how-to and some great looking bracelets! Like these:

So, in my experimenting, I tried making necklaces too and I love them! Kinda weird, but I think they rock!

If you want to try this, just be careful. The plastic will be super hot, so wear heavy oven mitts. And have fun!!fashion, recycle, style, vintage, jewelry, knitting, necklaces, needles, bracelets

How Beautiful
those are pretty sweet, I love taking plastic things and messing with them. I only own vintage wood needles though, I'll have to see if I can find some plastic ones at a garage sale.
LOVE THEM! I was on the joanns sit looking at needles for this, I want these:

THEY HAVE FACES!!!!
This is so amazing!!! I'm definitely going to have to try this.
I love this - it reminds me of some of my friends who have guitar strip bracelets; and I wanted to comment about "weird" fashion from the most recent threadbanger video---thecoolhunter.net always has the most innovative and unique fashion!
