Celebrity DIY Style: Fashionable Politics

While Barack Obama and John McCain duke it out in the political ring, there's a new debate being launched - this one in the fashion community. The question? Which potential first lady has the best wardrobe. Acorrding to Tim Gunn, host of Bravo's Project Runway and Guide to Style, Michelle is the winner - and most of American might agree with him. Shortly after Michelle Obama appeared on The View, the Donna Ricco dress she wore flew off store shelves. Now you don't have to wait for this hot item to be restocked, you can make your own version by using Burda 3477. If Cindy's tailored looks are more your style, check out Vogue 1041, it's almost a dead ringer for the yellow, springy suit she wore on Jay Leno. Of course, if you're looking to make your on political statement, you can always craft your own - check out this suit by a Hillary Clinton supporter.

I agree with mouton noir. These women are intelligent and successful individuals, but their sartorial choices are what you hear the most about. It's silly, especially when there are so many more important issues at hand.
Seriously...we're debating the style of our potential First Ladies now? As much as I love fashion, it's probably best when not mixed with politics. To rate these highly successful, powerful women on the merits of their clothing choices is ridiculous and has nothing to do with the duties and responsibilities of a First Lady. Let's please keep our focus on the many important issues of this year's election, not on the style of the candidates' spouses.
"Lighten up! It's just fashion!" :D
