Make That Shirt Your Own!

Ever find a shirt at a thrift store or yard sale that you like, except for an unwanted logo? My boyfriend has to wear black collared shirts for his work dress code, which are in abundance at our local Value Village, but most have unwanted company branding, so I decided to do something about it!

His nickname at work is Banjo (long story...) so I embroidered this simple banjo shape onto a scrap of t-shirt left over from an old project...

Some quick messy machine top stitching, and tah-dah! Personalized logo shirt!

If you want to make it look a little more finished, you can use fusible interfacing to iron the patch to the shirt before stitching. Check out this applique tutorial on Etsy Labs for more info on that. Now go de-brand some shirts!

This is so cute and clever! The sort of messy stitching looks way more personal and unique than the generic logos that adorn everyone else's clothes. I'm going to try this on a few old shirts very soon!
Ooooh! A neat idea for covering all those awful Disney logos on baby clothes! Thanks!
Awesome Idea!!! I work at an embroidery shop... so i have access to all kinds of messed up embroidered shirts.. I never take them because I didn't want a stupid logo and when you pick out the logo it leaves holes... this is and awesome Idea!!! :) I am taking it! thanks!
Ingenious idea! Thanks for sharing. :)
That's a great idea! I always feel like a billboard walking around with logos all over me. I'll use this for sure!
