Weekly DIY Roundup: Hair Accessories!
I'm thinking about cutting my hair short, like really short, shorter than it's ever been, which would mean no more pulling it back every day to get it out of my face. So I'm thinking, at least until I get used to the new 'do, I'll need lots of headbands and clippy things to help me adjust. This roundup wasn't as successful as I'd hoped it would be, not many hair projects out there that I like, but I did find a few high quality tutorials, starting with these beaded bobby pins by The Crafty Chica. Perfect for keeping wild bangs in order...

These ribbon hair clips by the long thread look pretty cute and a good way to use up some of that vintage ribbon I've collected:

The long thread also gives us a tutorial for these great reversible fabric headbands, complete with a downloadable template!

There's another detailed how-to for a fabric hair band by Cat Morley over on Cut Out + Keep:

For you crocheters, this bobble headband by Chloe Nightingale (The Crabby Crafter) looks super cool, and she shares her patterns for free, for both the wide and simple versions!

And my favorite knit headband (I've made 6 different versions!) is the Calorimetry by Kathryn Schoendorf on Knitty. I know I'm not the only one who loves this design - it has 4,828 projects on ravelry!

This hairband project on Bluelines is great, as they say, "unless you are opting for a Mia Farrow cut," which is exactly what I'm thinking about doing. But for tying back long locks, these will add a cute touch to an otherwise simple style:

Well I hope you liked some of these ideas, and if you have any other project ideas, please share! We'd love to hear them!
